Finding Latex In Paris
Add to that intrigue DeMasK’s recent opening in the basement of Metamoprh’Ose/Phylea and anything is possible between Pomidou Center and Marsais presently.

Culturally we’ve pretty much come to expect the black jacket turn from men. From Brando in “The Wild One,” to Elvis’ ’68 “Comeback Special” (dressed in head-to-toe black leather actually) to John Travolta’s T-Bird leader in Grease, the ubiquitous leather jacket has been recognized as male king-of-the-heap style. Yes, we did have Beyoncé wearing her Dsquared2 black leather jacket during her 2016 Super Bowl half-time show, but for a woman of such important feminist presence as Hillary Clinton sporting a leather jacket makes a statement indeed. And that the ex-First Lady chose these particular wardrobe choices at this specific conference made an even bigger impact around the web.
Pretty much a no-brainer match-made-in-heaven, Megan Fox is sporting latex couture in a new campaign for Frederick’s of Hollywood. In latex leggings and booty-bearing body suit, the mother-of-three star of Transformers shows pretty well how pretty well she wears our most favorite material. As the infamous sexy shop’s new Brand Ambassador and creative partner, Maxim’s ‘Earth’s hottest girl’ is perfect to show off these intimate pieces for Frederick’s lingerie spring 2017 campaign.
Sand, ‘duster’ coats, scary music, dystopian cities teaming with rain, Harrison Ford and maybe the hope to see some latex costumes: Blade Runner returns. The brand new trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the 1982 film, is as much making the rounds online presently (see here), as it made fans scream at Cinemacon …
Opera with kink, fetish clothing and projections…how could you beat this night out in old London Town? ETERNUS PRODUCTIONS presents Sobriety Twist and her talented minions in Queen of Carnage at The Space. With none other than Ian McKellen one of the better-known patrons behind this intimate theater space@269 Westferry Road, Isle Of Dogs, E14 3RS, this particular Queen is set for a short but impressive reign at just the right spot between 4/11-4/15.
Following the progression of a super pop diva like Minaj one as much comes to listen to her changes, as see them. As the woman’s proportions seemingly progress with her music and style certainly Ms. Minaj seems to be lately wiggling well past any effect we might have enjoyed from Lady Gaga latex showings or even Katy Perry latex (though Perry has a new album about to hit, so who knows what wild styles she will be rocking soon.)
We would have been proud to declare that Bella Hadid had worn one of our accessories in a photo shoot. Or that we happened to outfit Liu Wen for a strut down the runway. Or that we might even be getting a mention in the newest CR Fashion Book or to have said some of our wardrobe pieces appeared in a Mario Sorrenti shoot or that we got to work with stylist Carine Roitfeld. Any of those credits alone would have been enough for solid bragging rights. But in the latest CR Fashion Book, #10 to be exact, all of the above wishes have come true: Dawnamatrix Dresses Bella Hadid and Liu Wen in CR Fashion Book # 10, in a photo shoot by Mario Sorrenti shoot, styled by Carine Roitfeld!

A dress-up event beyond just a latex outfit runway or kink party, where do we sign up? Las Vegas creator and producer Pete Housley is giving the fashionista fans-in-waiting of his new 70-minute production Cosplay: The Show a way to be part of the show. Currently flirting for a location in two major showrooms on the infamous ‘strip,’ this production will feature performers as well as a copious count of costumes, with sets and props all celebrating our supreme dress-up desire.
Receiving the Outset Exhibition Fund at Unseen Photography Festival last September. Having his work published by Taschen books and currently working on a major exhibition for Foam in Amsterdam, Hang enjoyed twenty solo shows and seventy group gallery exhibitions in his all-too-brief career of six years.
Teaming up with estate seller Everything But the House, Lucci has some items starting at a price of only one dollar and the action, which runs until March 10th, will donate a portion of Lucci’s sale to United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (her grandson is afflicted with the disease). Included in the collection being offered are outfits Susan Lucci has worn on set, as well as pieces she has shown off at various events, plenty of which she told ET, “have been photographed on red carpets.”
We don’t recommend Dawnamatrix customers throw one of our latex wedding gowns into a fire pit, but Mariah can pretty much do what she wants and still come through it as the diva she has always been.
There can be many reasons why a lady or man would dress in what the mainstream would think provocative, sexy, alternative …use the term you like. But in advertising, as was certainly Monster’s motivation, it’s obvious that a comely lady dressed provocatively turns eyes to whatever product that lady might be showing off or supporting. And given the fact that a large percentage of NASCAR viewers are male, Monster knew-and were counting on-their “Energy Girls” getting long looks.
For us it’s not always just about latex clothing, high fashion alternative models, talented photographers or runways. Sometimes it’s where we find our wares, in lush locations, in faraway surreal landscapes or even busy streets bustling with nightlife and attitude that brings a thrill. In this recent posting: https://www.cnn.com/2017/02/21/architecture/mexican-jungle-architecture-art/index.html of an article that first appeared …
LondonEdge Magazine, the publication behind these shows showcases styles and trends as their ethos because they: “think change is good.” Going on to declare: “Supporting the alternative fashion industries as we do, we know that trends and styles change all the time. We also know that counter culture is constantly moving and evolving. We embrace this and continue to represent a diverse variety of exhibitors.”
Though there wasn’t a hint of latex costumes this time out, still we all were treated to quite the startling mix of styles at the Grammys 2017 even before the show began. All but a show unto itself (and certainly broadcast), the red carpet walkin-in is as much a perfect advertisement for designers as it is for stars to get in a first outrageous outfit before they often times change for the show itself.
What has always been fun about Marquis is the wide range of fashion one could always be sure to see in the magazine. Yes, the models are top notch in the field, the photography of the highest standard, but from rubber clothing to latex to PVC (and pretty much whatever else struck a startling sex chord) Marquis was (and still is) the source for what’s happening in fetish clothing. The change over from German-based (and born) Czerich to the American Martell might have been trying at times for both men, but looking at this first ‘new’ issue Marquis seems to have come out even stronger than before.
ne black bodysuit split all the way down Britney’s back just recently, she lost a bra strap just this past fall and just a few days ago her green bodysuit moved just enough while she was dancing and spinning for the song “Work B**ch” that Britney exposed her breast (which she snuck right back in her top without missing a step, like the pro she is).
Solis Magazine is an online-offline publication, the first magazine of its kind to have six major entertainment disciplines on one single platform. Pieces and reporting on art, photography, movies, music, fashion and gaming are always part of the magazine, with one of those six categories featured across a specific month.
We might just catch a good eyeful of lady gaga latex at the Superbowl this year, or at the very least something more than just shoulder pads and cleats. The Little Monster maven is performing at the Halftime show come this February 7th and it is sure to be a full-on sound and light barrage to be talked about and over for well past Sunday night if the reigning pop diva has her way.
Whatever the U.S. relationship with Vladimir Putin might be in the future, here at Dawnamatrix we have always thought of ourselves as global ambassadors of latex good will for any person or place, anywhere across the globe.
Modeling anything from latex outfits to swinging in bondage rigging, to working London Fashion Week, the stunning super sweet Joceline Brooke-Hamilton (also known as Ariel Anderssen and Amelia Jane Rutherford to her fetish fans) is one busy model. Successfully working in mainstream and fetish fashion and scenes-and completely open about doing so-the leggy lady claims, “I’m not secretive about what I do, broadly speaking I’m happy for people to find out who I am and actually it helps with a shoot if someone books me under a specific name so I know what they are expecting.”
Agent Provocateur has created a deliciously sexy impression of heir new lingerie line through the knowing lens of Mario Sorrenti paying homage to a true artist of alternative sensibility, Elmer Batters.
Yes, though we do preach unisex couture in our rendering of latex clothing, sorry, sometimes it is all about the girls. We are proud to declare you will find a whole bunch of Dawnamatrix items in the recent WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) Spring Trend Alert photo essay https://wwd.com/fashion-news/other/gallery/trend-little-pink-dresses-10691635/.
This spin-off film is said to follow a group of female robbers who hit the infamous fashion night and make away with millions in jewels. Surely these most famous Instagram stars, Kim Kardashian West and Kendall Jenner appear in the movie in cameo’s (this will actually mark Jenner’s first appearance in a film), still where Kanye’s wife is concerned, is even fictional jewel thievery a little too much art imitating life?
For men and women both-though wearing latex or any outfit of a see-through variety seems to be something women do more than men-there comes a fine line with just what to show and how to show it.
Truly, “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players” as old Willy told us. But often on that stage, from runway to red carpet to playing field, one can say quite a few things when given the chance.
The New Year might not be starting off with any spectacular latex couture news, but one of our better-known celebrities is marking January 2017 with some fashion doings. Caitlyn Jenner’s new collection with Mac cosmetics, their Caitlyn Jenner II collection is now available, and both the company and arguably the most famous Jenner, is seeing …
Surely Debbie Reynold’s was a grand dame of Hollywood. And her tragic death only two days after her daughter’s last week (seemingly from a broken heart), cuts us all to the quick. But the lady should also be recognized for reaching out and collecting all those outfits and props movie fans held dear. One can only imagine where so much of that filmdom history could have ended up or if we’d have ever seen it again.
We should not only celebrate the ultimate geek goddess and warrior Princess Leia, but the strong and honest woman who played her. Carrie Fisher was a true feminist, as much for what she wanted in her life, as how she got it and for talking about that which people usually saw as stigmatizing.
Introduced via the Harlem “House Ball” community fashion competitions, Jose Guitierez Xtravaganza and Louis Xtravaganza showed Madonna what the style was all about and the rest is history.
Seeing beyond the New Year, you might want to lube up your catsuit or latex hakama pants for T.G,’s first event of 2017, their Valentines Ball to be held at the 9-room Coronet on 2/11. And a bit further afield from London, TG will roll into Edinburgh at the Caves on 2/25 for Torture Garden Edinburgh. The organization is also planning to roll out events for Rome and Japan later in the year.
Not simply the denizens of a Justin Bieber or Drake starting a tour and offering ‘exclusives’ of their merchandise, the pop-up was the gorilla brick-and-mortar de jour of this past year. Google opened temporary locations, as did plenty of other retailers (some not even couture related). The attraction here is that the buyer is able to purchase items they can’t get anywhere else, or items soon to be sold out, and in the pop/fashion world that speaks volumes. And also one’s cool cred increases being part of what is exactly happening now, at locations that often are only revealed to those who scour Instagram or a retailer’s site on a regular basis.
Jess Merriman of MomoCon claims that “Our Cosplayers on Ice event goes beyond cosplay.” And one could certainly say that the cosplayers coming out for the new Star Wars adventure go beyond the usual need to dress in fantastical garb. It’s not that this science fiction movie franchise started this need for dress up, but certainly the stark black and white outfits we see in the Star Wars universe (where the evil Storm Troopers are dressed in white, which is typically the color for good guys) all those delicious aliens or super feminist Jyn Ersa dressing in hooded robes to her full flight suit slick black gear give serious cosplayers lots to work with.
Here at Dawnamatrix we live for the unlimited possibility of textile art and how it relates to alternative couture. Zara doesn’t sport anything as naughty as a velvet catsuit, one probably wouldn’t be combing the site for a cosplay outfit or fetish gear specifically (although who can say how someone might come to use velvet?). But it is important to note, that just as we have seen with latex, there is a strong market for materials slightly to the left of what is commonly used in everyday couture, and not just for video stars or for Lady Gaga checking out her local deli counter.
We are all well aware of where we might see latex fashion design, rubber clothing, those outfits and accessories we all crave to wear. From fashion events, to specific magazines, possibly on Lady Gaga on a semi-regular basis, that couture that makes such an impression in our lives, certainly makes a showing from time to time. And when it comes to latex, PVC, rubber, alternate wardrobes, a picture really is worth a thousand words, and a few new publications are speaking volumes with their pics featuring the stuff we love.
