Jean Bardot Interviews Team Dawnamatrix @ Montreal Fetish Weekend

At the past MFW we debuted our Space & Time collection, and finding ourselves in town pre that showing we found ourselves being interviewed on the famous Rue Ste.-Catherine by the wonderful Jean Bardot. As you will see on this video beautiful models walked by showing various Dawnamatrix pieces while Jean and Team Dawnamatrix had a good old jaw. Our latest credit comes from this decided global exploration, via Vogue Ukraine. In the famous couture magazine’s May issue we have contributed Premium Thigh Highs, Lace Shrug, and Underwire Bra. This new shoot in Vogue features model Mirte Maas wearing or wares in photos shot by Jack Waterlot, with the stylist on the shoot Amy Mach. We previously worked with Amy Mach and Jack Waterlot on photo editorials for L’Officiel Magazine (including the project with Sharon Stone, see here) and we can’t express enough how thrilled we are to join their team once again, once again for another international high-end publication.

Anne Rice Sets Us All Straight With “Beauty’s Kingdom”

A loose ‘retelling’ of the Sleeping Beauty story (very loose) it seems this time out servitude in Queen Eleanor’s kingdom (now with the queen dead) becomes voluntary under Beauty and Laurent’s reign. Launched in October of 2011, Dark Parlour Magazine features a dizzying display of alternative couture models and clothing, photographers, writers, musicians, designers-truly artists of all kinds-between its pages. The colorful magazine boasts a global reach, with a focus on the Canadian alternative scene especially. In this age of the “print is dead” battle cry it is heartening indeed to find a magazine like Dark Parlour alive and well and publishing such provocative-and “alternative” “fetish” “fantasy”-stuff.

Dawnamatrix Talks To Rain Dove

Modeling as both male and female, acting, writing, forever championing a forward discussion and action as someone defining-and battling-social dysmorphia, Rain Dove is one striking woman (in both her physicality as well as her thoughts and actions). The Woman With The Best Body Of All Time: Victoria’s Secret, Lane Bryant, Curvy Kate, all ‘Weigh’ In.

We have certainly weighed in (pardon the pun) over this debate a few times ourselves, but the fires are once again being stoked, presently from an ad plus-size retailer Lane Bryant recently launched. Their new #ImNoAngel intimate couture campaign features plus-sized models Ashley Graham, Marquita Pring, Justine Elly Mayday (and a host of others) appearing in a Cass Bird photo-spread showing lots of themselves in the Lane Bryant new Cacique undies line. One might recall Ashley Graham executing quite the positive ‘you go girl’ historic step appearing as she did as the first-ever plus sized model in a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photo-spread in this year’s issue (see our reporting on that here). Or the great big backlash over Victoria’s Secret’s “Perfect Body” campaign, where both Dear Kate and Curvy Kate (these two ‘Kate’s’ are not sisters) created parodies of the V.S. add. Mad Men Slips Into The 70’s

Fan or not of the super popular AMC series, there is no denying that Mad Men, now in its final season, has enjoyed a successful run. The appeal of actors like Jon Hamm, January Jones, Christian Hendricks and so many other talented men and women, the peak through past decades and the delineated roles men and women were locked into were brought alive in the series’ long run (this, their 7th season, is their last). And of course the sartorial sensibility of the show, the resplendent suits and colors of clothes we hadn’t seen in prime time T.V. in so long, added to the cool of the show and had people talking all the time (Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez who run a popular style site have been cataloging almost every Mad Men outfit on their site for their https://tomandlorenzo.com/tag/mad-style/series) This last season of Mad Men sees the cast slipping into 1970…and boy is the wardrobe of Mad Men making news once again.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards Gets Damn Sexy

Certainly the iHeartRadio performance/award show is another in a long list of self-celeb congratulatory made-for-T.V. moments, but there is no denying recent onstage fashions are of a whole different-dare we dream it-alternative bent these days? Sure, the original Material Girl and Rihanna have been known to show more than a little skin (Madonna at 56 isn’t shying away from revealing as much of herself as she can) but when we get Taylor Swift dressing so sexy, it’s either that we are one stretch closer to a couture apocalypse or what Dawnamatrix has been about for years is coming to pass…leather, latex, thigh high fishnets and corsets are damn sexy and the world is coming to realize it more and more.

The Fetish Subculture Documentary Hits A Milestone

Director/producer/director Carl Simard has also been working the festival circuit with the movie. It is presently lining up for, or has been shown, in four festivals around the world. There was a the Fetisch Film Festival in Kiel Germany where the movie played in Nov. 2014, the Roma Fetish Film Festival in Rome, Italy, where it was showed in February just passed, at the Copenhagen Fetish Film Festival just this week and an upcoming showing at the Best of German Fetish Film Festival 2015, in London England on May 13th.

Dawnamatrix Featured on T. V Show “Why Did you Come to Japan?” “YOUは何しに日本へ?”

“Why Did you Come to Japan?” “YOUは何しに日本へ?” is broadcast on TV Tokyo in Japan and is watched by Japanese and non-Japanese around the world. Hosted by Osamu Shitara and Yūki Himura-a comedy double act known as “Bananaman”- the vibe of the show is certainly light hearted, with some good nature jabs coming at our expense, always with the intention of making everyone laugh and feel comfortable.

As the small crew followed us during the day, Dawn was wearing a Harajuku-inspired design with a unique water marble print and Mihoko and Youko wore our Galaxy Mermaid Gown in Black Galaxy and in Black respectively (see here.) with the latex sheeting custom manufactured for us by Yummy Gummy Latex. We caught lots of stares and were the subject of plenty of pictures and whispers of people passing asking, “Is That lady Gaga?” We reveled at all the attention (really, when do you get a T.V. crew to follow you round for day and pick up the tab on such unusual delicacies?)

Wedding Bells Are In The Air

For over twenty years, the latex elite of the world have gathered at the Texas Latex Party in Houston for fashion fun, themed gala dinners, and boutique shopping. It’s great to get out and canoodle, party and strut in our finest with such gregarious like-minded folk, all celebrating their love of latex. This year, as you see by the photos included here, we enjoyed an especially high spirited nuptial few moments on high seas during an adventure cruise on Clear Lake.

Robert Durst And…Latex? Say It’s Ain’t So!

Durst, who is the subject of the H.B.O. documentary The Jinx; The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst certainly comes across as one of the more enigmatic public figures of late. His connection to such a wealthy family, his odd way of non denial denials-even allowing the documentary interviews to be conducted in the first place-adds such a depth of mystery to this guy who actually was brought to trial for murdering (though he claims in self defense) his next door neighbor who he then dismembered! Details like his cross-dressing on occasion to elude spying and capture, and now the ‘smoking gun’ for us latex lovers, make the guy just perfect for tags of pervert and weirdo, when all we might just be seeing here (and admittedly what we might be seeing is a lot) is a multiple murder.

Game of Thrones Takes Over The World: Fantasy Couture Lovers Rejoice

According to pictures from Entertainment Weekly and what seems to be confirmed in the various trailers, Arya Stark has a new look-new costume and hair style-seeing as she is not so much on the run anymore. And we get great views of the Sand Snakes in their open cleavage bodices trimmed with leather, dark brown tunics, ready-for-action-wear (it makes us dream of… https://dawnamatrix.com/shop/classics/basic-halter-2/). This is the one show the fans consistently come to complimenting its attention to detail and how, in very many ways it betters the sprawling multi-editor voice apparent in books. The sets, those costumes, the acting, is truly top notch and what has made this the only ‘game in town.’

A Fashion Week Make Us All Weak

True to her usually news-making wily ways-and giving all us fetish wardrobe wearers a warm feeling while looking at all the mainstream high couture-good old internet breaker Kim Kardashian stepped out during Paris Fashion Week sporting platinum blonde locks, and on one day a strapp-y see thru cage-of-a-dress, on another, latex leggings (with a fur jacket). As we have noted before, Kim seems to be championing the fantasy styles we all love (we have latex leggings here: ) and regardless of how one feels about the curvy lass, one has to applaud her very left-of-mainstream fashion choices.

A Celebration of Cosplay In Atlantic City

The upcoming Atlantic City Boardwalk Con, the first ever full service comic book convention to be held in that famous seaside resort town, will feature not only a wide range of comic book names and celebs-Marvel Entertainment, Top Cow, Michael Rooker, Phil Jimenez, Stan Lee, to name but a few-but will “celebrate” cosplayers as the convention’s CEO and founder, Michael D’Alessio promises.

Two Big Lifestyle Events In NYC: LGBT Expo and CineKink 12th Annual Film Festival

From February 24-March 1, 2015 CineKink NYC returns for its twelfth year. Opening Tuesday, February 24th@ 8 PM, with a fundraising kick-off extravaganza at Taj (48 W. 21st Street, NYC), the festival moves to Anthology Film Archives (32 Second Avenue, NYC) from Wednesday, February 25 through Saturday, February 28, and then there’s a DIY filmmaking workshop, awards celebration and an “AfterGlow” play party to end everything on Sunday, March 1.
Fans as we are of all kinds of cinema, but especially films of a decidedly ‘edgy’ sensibility, the list of what will be shown this year reads to us like quite the scrumptious shmosregboard. On 2/25 (just two days from now, so be quick and get your tickets here) the festival opens with films “Inside Her Sex” and “Air Sex: The Movie.” Other titles spanning the end of the week and across the weekend are: “Love Hard,” “Body Of God” “A Tribute To Club 90” documentary, “High Shine: 15 Years Of International Ms Bootblack” (something lots of Dawnamarix fans might be interested in?). On the last day a course will be presented for making your own naughty movie, FROM FANTASY TO FILM as well as the annual Cinekink Awards and a party to follow to close-out the event.

Dawnamatrix Gold Latex Gown In Kelly Padrick’s New Video “Radiance”

Director/editor/producer here, Patricia Chica uses the wonderful talents of cinematographer Martin Bouchard DOP to the fore at both inside and outside locations in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, to make this 8th video of Kelly’s really something special. Chica is well known for her creative documentaries of often alternative subjects and in this video you see her creativity taking hold. In fact, as is made clear in an anecdote written in the notes of the video, a huge dragonfly just happened to light on both Kelly and her costar and Chica decided to use the happy accident to make a most delicious scene.

The Mainstream Has Its Fifty Shades Of Fun While The Latex Fashionista Sits Back Bemused

Ellen DeGeneres trotted out another ‘homage’ to “Shades,” debuting a video clip of none other than Today show weather guy Al Rocker giving a weather report dressed in red nipple tassels, black leather shorts, a bondage harness and knee-high laced boots. Given the fact that DeGeneres works for the same network, that Roker-and the rest of his Today show hosts-are as much T.V. personalities as well as broadcasters and that DeGeneres pulled a Fifty Shades Of Dress-Up with Rocker’s fellow host Matt Lauer only a few days before, this all fit the theme and mood of what has been going on in and around the movie.

Yes, flowers and chocolate are all the rage on Feb. 14th (and usually overpriced for the day) and you will catch any number of couples scrambling for a table at their favorite bistro. Space & Time Butterflies Fly Over To Germany To Flutter Across The Lush World Of Posh Fairytale Couture

As you well know our Dawnamatrix Space & Time butterflies have fluttered across the runaway at Montreal Fetish Weekend, sailed to great heights buoyed from applause at the Latex & Lace Winter Fashion Show; just recently they flew across to Germany. German photographer Sonja Saur shot model Luthieen (as these photos attest) in a perfect collaboration of our butterfly latex and Rachel’s beautiful and sculptural headdresses.

If you are unaware, The “Firework” singer is presenting the halftime show this year. Judging by Katy’s past performances her costumes for Sunday-deigned by Jeremy Scott-could be wild indeed. At a Super Bowl XLIX press conference Miss Perry assured us all that her opening costume would be “flaming hot,” that she is bringing a lion and some sharks to her performance “creating three or four different worlds” and that though she knows nothing about the latest ‘Deflategate’ controversy “nothing in my performance will be deflated.”

Looking back at this video shot by André Rousseau, featuring models Mira LaFleur – Alt Model, Kerri Taylor, July August Model, Marina Igorevicz, Holy Scar, Crimson Heavens , Carl-Andre Gerard, Nea Dune, Veronique Marcoux, Naida Black, with their hair and MUA expertly rendered by Eva Guida, it is amazing how quickly I can recall all the wonderfully sexy details of those three days by just looking at this great runway showing we had. I can literally feel that warmth and acceptance from the enthusiastic audience all over again.

A Personal “Fifty Shades Of Grey” Movie Review

We’re all adults here, let’s speak plainly. There is a certain alternative lifestyle approach to wearing latex for lots of us who wear it. Within that lifestyle sometimes fits cosplay, role-play and fetish…among fashion and high couture wardrobe needs and wear. Yes, there are those of us who as much enjoy wearing something like our latex micro ruffle skirt (see here) as there are those of us who would want it lifted up ever so slowly to receive a right solid smack on the fanny while wearing it (of saints be praised, say it ain’t so!) Yes a long latex cape might just be the sexiest accessory you own, but it certainly can cut either quite the sub or dom look in how its worn. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson may not be anything like what you picture Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey to look like and the action in Fifty Shades far unlike anything you ever experienced (or simply not as intense) but let’s face it, for lots of us latex aficionados the happenings in E.L. James’ trilogy are not unknown to us, at least in concept, if not in actual practice.

Rapper Wale, Collaborator Ashley Rose and a packed Cure Lounge Boston: The Amazing Latex & Lace Winter Fashion Show

The club was packed (always a good feeling) with lines around the block due to a surprise guest appearance by hip-hop recording artist Wale, our co-host for the evening. Wale has worked with Jay Z and Kayne and can boast (if he was that kind of a guy to do so) a rabid fan base. My collaborator for the event Ashley Rose Couture Designs and I couldn’t have been happier to have Wale there with us. His star presence really made the evening.

2015 CES Fashion Innovations

Nervous System revealed a second dress in their Kinematics 4D line (some people are just not happy with 3D.) The first Kinematics dress featured thousands upon thousands of interlocking pieces 3D printed as one piece, allowing the very best in visually arresting bespoke couture with the wearer making what they want right from their printer. The new dress has a thousand added panels (that’s a total of 3,212) and is much lighter than its predecessor, a huge selling point when it comes to attempting to sell wearable 3 or 4D to the masses.

Smart, Sexy, Fashionable Marvel’s Agent Carter

Sure, we have lots of super smart, proactive ladies populating T.V. presently-Kerry Washington’s “Olivia Pope” in Scandal, Archie Panjabi’s “Kalinda Sharma” on The Good Wife, those sassy smart young women on The Big Bang Theory-but add in a touch of the superhero and period piece couture and any fantasy wardrobe-r is bound to salivate. Hayley Atwell, who we first met as Peggy Carter in the superhero period movie Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger, will be working for SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) while managing her covert ops on this new show. ABC promises the series will be a mix of “Indiana Jones” and “Alias” with action swift and intricate and worth tuning in for.
