Robbie Williams has released his seeming first single “Party Like a Russian” from his new Heavy Entertainment Show album, mining a wonderfully fetish dress-up look for the song’s video. Obviously taking a cue from the iconic Robert Palmer “Addicted To Love” video (as well as Shania Twain’s all-male beefy backing band on “”Man! A little clutch might make more of the statement you are looking for then a big purse (plus be easier to carry). Or have you the tail, do you need the goggles, or if you have the goggles need you the…you get the point. Beyoncé broke her new ‘visual album on HBO this past Saturday, and though there wasn’t a latex outfit to be seen, it was a musical treat as well as a fashion bonanza. The hour-long 12 video program “Lemonade” featured designers like Air and Yeezy, Phelan, Saint Laurent as well as virtually unknowns like Yousef al-Jasmi, all dressing Miss Bey swimmingly indeed.
The ‘streetwear’ aesthetic is nothing new of course. But with the much acclaimed Kanye “Yeezy Season 3” show at Madison Square Garden at the just past New York Fashion week, the French label Vetements pieces being seen across runways in France’s capital, Rihanna creating oversized hoodies and “deconstructed” sweats for her Fenty x Puma collection, and fashionista audiences sitting at shows in ripped jeans and tee’s, the time is now for a decided non-haute couture look.
She’s still not sporting any latex accessories, but the 2016 Barbie, as just announced from its maker Mattel, certainly is seeing some interesting modernizing. And it’s not so much the cars, planes or even the fantasy wardrobe the doll is getting anew, as it is options in body types that makes this year’s plastic lady so interesting.

A celeb of Ruby Rose’s stature or a Miley Cyrus (the reigning queen of award show change-ups) has the facility to keep changing during any one show or performance.
Main characters new and old are featured on the poster, but Luke Skywalker’s absence on the artwork has been fodder for ripe net rumor (and Mark Hamill, along with Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are indeed returning for The Force Awakens as their characters Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia respectively). And though Skywalker/Hamill’s omission in the new poster art has fueled plenty of fan worry and debate (and maybe it is all a clever ploy by the studio to create all the chatter) if one were to study the poster even in passing, one would realize that once again, fetish costume fans and movie fashionistas have lots to celebrate.
And speaking of a stellar tennis star with the name Williams, Venus Williams (Serena’s sister if you didn’t know!) has her own “EleVen” fashion line. Started by Venus’ collection features a goodly amount and seems to focus most on work-out clothing and accessories as well as some casual clothing.
And as mentioned there is Michael Jordan’s “Air Jordan” line begun as sneaker collection with Nike back in the mid 80’s, now grown to an accessories and clothing behemoth that includes hats and even basketballs.
It’s not every day the fashion world gets such a comedic intentioned send-up, but it very much did in the 2001 comedy classic Zoolander…and will again when Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson reprise their model adversary roles in “Zoolander 2.” The film’s teaser trailer hit this week-see here-and it is pretty much a hoot…as we all assumed it would be. Ben Stiller’s pucker and that voice he adopts for the character alone make the trailer hilarious.
Our latest credit comes from this decided global exploration, via Vogue Ukraine. In the famous couture magazine’s May issue we have contributed Premium Thigh Highs, Lace Shrug, and Underwire Bra. This new shoot in Vogue features model Mirte Maas wearing or wares in photos shot by Jack Waterlot, with the stylist on the shoot Amy Mach. We previously worked with Amy Mach and Jack Waterlot on photo editorials for L’Officiel Magazine (including the project with Sharon Stone, see here) and we can’t express enough how thrilled we are to join their team once again, once again for another international high-end publication.
From February 24-March 1, 2015 CineKink NYC returns for its twelfth year. Opening Tuesday, February 24th@ 8 PM, with a fundraising kick-off extravaganza at Taj (48 W. 21st Street, NYC), the festival moves to Anthology Film Archives (32 Second Avenue, NYC) from Wednesday, February 25 through Saturday, February 28, and then there’s a DIY filmmaking workshop, awards celebration and an “AfterGlow” play party to end everything on Sunday, March 1.
Fans as we are of all kinds of cinema, but especially films of a decidedly ‘edgy’ sensibility, the list of what will be shown this year reads to us like quite the scrumptious shmosregboard. On 2/25 (just two days from now, so be quick and get your tickets here) the festival opens with films “Inside Her Sex” and “Air Sex: The Movie.” Other titles spanning the end of the week and across the weekend are: “Love Hard,” “Body Of God” “A Tribute To Club 90” documentary, “High Shine: 15 Years Of International Ms Bootblack” (something lots of Dawnamarix fans might be interested in?). On the last day a course will be presented for making your own naughty movie, FROM FANTASY TO FILM as well as the annual Cinekink Awards and a party to follow to close-out the event.

In our first blog about our recent trip to Japan we elaborated on a surprise adventure we experienced when entering the country. But there was more to our visit then just team Dawnamatrix being filmed for the T.V. show “Why did you come to Japan? 「Youは何し日本へ？」” . In fact, in what we wrote in our last blog, we stumbled into that show appearance but the real reason we came to Japan this time was to attend the wedding of our friend Masakazu (the groom) to Mayu (his bride.)
Stylist Amy Mach contacted us to pull garments for a shoot for November’s L’Officiel Singapore Magazine. Traveling to Japan as we were this was a perfect opportunity to feature Dawnamatrix in a startling beautiful high-end publication while we paired with equally high-end designers. The model featured in the pictorial, Hailey Clausen is “the face of Gucci” and to say we were thrilled have our wares in the shoot with Louboutin, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, etc. would be a monumental understatement.
