L’Officiel Singapore Magazine and Dawnamatrix!

image 3Stylist Amy Mach contacted us to pull garments for a shoot for November’s L’Officiel Singapore Magazine. Traveling to Japan as we were this was a perfect opportunity to feature Dawnamatrix in a startling beautiful high-end publication while we paired with equally high-end designers. The model featured in the pictorial, Hailey Clausen is “the face of Gucci” and to say we were thrilled have our wares in the shoot with Louboutin, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, etc. would be a monumental understatement.

As excited as we are at this honor, we are also thrilled, as always, to see latex garments sneaking their way into the high-fashion mainstream. Whether it’s Dawnamatrix pieces that make the grade or any other latex designer’s outfits (Ok, to be truthful, we’re always that much more thrilled when it’s our garments that are featured!) the more latex infiltrates modern culture, we feel a sense of pride. It’s a ‘See, what have I been saying for years?’ vindication when our fantasy couture comes into vogue in places…like Vogue, or across any of a number of everyday fashion sites and pop media. No longer just material worn by the fetish faithful or codsplayers, bolstering video cuties’ wardrobes or adorning horror movie extras, latex is truly being recognized for the wonderful material it is. A showing like this one in L’Officiel Singapore Magazine, is great for the Dawnamatrix profile to be sure, but also indicates how far latex couture acceptance is growing in general.image i

From our work with Beyoncé at this year’s VMA’s, to how much positive feedback we have been getting on our new Space and Time collection, to this new feather-in-our-cap (or hood-like any of these) with L’Officiel Singapore Magazine, we feel latex wardrobe has never been more popular. It will be interesting indeed to see where the journey-ours and yours-with fantasy dress-up takes us into 2015.
