Lady Gaga’s Got The Clothes: American Horror Story Hotel

As one would expect the vampire fashionista that is Lady Gaga’s character, Elizabeth/The Countess, struts round in the premier episode in the most interesting clothes. While she’s not exactly sporting that Lady Gaga latex styling we are so quick to salivate over (yet) she was seen in this past Wed. night in but some yummy cinema couture to be sure. Not only pulled into a corset, Gaga’s cool female vampire stepped out on the town with her lover (actually walked over to a nearby Hollywood cemetery showing the silent classic Nosferatu) in a long red coat with train and later sported silver pasties. Gaga and her lover’s gloves (hers are quite chainmail encrusted) are another delicious horrible accessory of costume designer of AHS Lou Eyrich’s imagining, inspired he claims by Daphne Guinness when creating them.

“Historic” Undies at The Erotic Heritage Museum

First there is a collection of “claimed” Gennifer Flowers undies. These include President Clinton’s mistress’ pantyhose sets, thigh highs, floggers and hand cuffs, a leather vest, garters, corsets (probably some latex and leather in there) Then there is another exhibit of intimate wear from Carrie Royale, mistresses of Prince Harry and lastly a huge “Sex In The Third Reich” exhibit exposing the hypocrisy of Hitler and the Nazi cult through their sexual biographies and WWII paraphernalia (any exhibit that skewers Hitler’s sick regime is a good thing we feel.) “The Sex In The Third Reich” also features authenticated Eva Braun lingerie.

Marquis Magazine…Alive And Well With C. Michael Martell

A standard bearer for alternative couture-to say the least-the lush glossy Marquis Magazine was beloved by all who ever strapped into a corset or wore a latex mask. Begun by Czernich in 1994 after losing the right to his original magazine “O”’s name, what was started as a compliment ‘spin-off’ to Skin Two became a sensation all its own. Two years after Marquis began Czernich began Heavy Rubber (not a magazine about tires, to be sure!) he also continued to publish stand-alone photographic books and create and sell clothing.

Models Making Mainstream Movie Moves

Take for instance the mainstreaming of model Cara Delevingne. The British lady is accumulating accolades presently in the big summer ‘teen’ blockbuster Paper Towns. Delevingne has made steps into the ‘mainstream’ acting world in both Face of an Angel and Anna Karenina, but the twenty two year old has slipped into public conscious now with her recent turn in Paper Towns and is getting great reviews.

Careful With Your Latex…and other clothing as well

In other fashion mishap related news, Lululemon is recalling over three hundred thousand of their women’s tops. It seems the draw cords of the tops-elastic cords with metal or plastic hard ends-have injured enough wearers’ faces and eyes, or became caught on something they have passed…and then snapped back, to cause the recall.

Two years ago Lululemon Athletica Inc. had to recall yoga pants after complaints that the material used in their construction was either too sheer or ‘pilling” and/or splitting at the seams.

Burlesque Fashion introduces more European fans to Dawnamatrix

With our friends/co-workers Yummy Gummy having recently won the European Fetish Award for Best Idea/Start-Up in Berlin at the German Fetish Ball we can say with certainty that Germany knows its latex clothing. So you can bet we were honored to have an entire article written about the Dawnamatrix brand on the German-based Burlesque Fashion site: https://www.burlesque-fashion.com/2015/latex-creations-of-dawnamatrix-overcome-time-and-space/.

The Kentucky Derby and Latex? Maybe Not This Year.

Oh-so-distinctive couture has been a feature of derby day since its inception in 1875. Colonel M. Lewis Clark, Jr. envisioned the day at Churchill Downs as a grand event more akin to a European car racing Grand Prix then just any old horse race. As much as been made of triple crown winning horses (this year American Pharaoh is being slated to win the Belmont Stakes and becoming a Triple Crown winner) as the celebs who attend, to all the colorful dresses and of course the hats. (Here is Nordstrom’s Kentucky Derby Dresses page & J.C. Penny’s hat page.)

Latex Colors

The color choices we offer have certainly increased over the years, to very much like what you might find in a common Easter Basket. Just some of the colors on our list include: Orange, Plum, Vibrant Pink, Yellow Jade, various Pearl Sheen colors and Transparents, not to mention all the various leopard prints, textured latex (clearly evident in the Space & Time collection we debuted in August of last year) scales and splatter designers we sell.

Don’t hesitate to dream your bespoke fantasies in high Technicolor. Or rock your black, whi

The iHeartRadio Music Awards Gets Damn Sexy

Certainly the iHeartRadio performance/award show is another in a long list of self-celeb congratulatory made-for-T.V. moments, but there is no denying recent onstage fashions are of a whole different-dare we dream it-alternative bent these days? Sure, the original Material Girl and Rihanna have been known to show more than a little skin (Madonna at 56 isn’t shying away from revealing as much of herself as she can) but when we get Taylor Swift dressing so sexy, it’s either that we are one stretch closer to a couture apocalypse or what Dawnamatrix has been about for years is coming to pass…leather, latex, thigh high fishnets and corsets are damn sexy and the world is coming to realize it more and more.

Rihanna Gets Kinky With Alexander McQueen

The thing with alternative fashion is that, in the mainstream, it does rear its naughty head in loudest of ways. Recall all the controversy over Madonna posing and prancing in what was considered at the time ‘racy’ couture-mostly blindfolds, full black shiny catsuits and long gloves-(like these: https://dawnamatrix.com/shop/accessories/opera-length-gloves/) in her videos for songs like “Human Nature” and “Exotica.” Often celebs lead the charge in what they wear or in their actions…did you hear that Dakota Johnson admitted to stealing her underwear from the set of Fifty Shades, it was so delicious? Or we get little hints of what could really be on a costumers’ or directors’ mind when they slip-in decidedly naughty accessories like a latex leopard cincher that even the most novice latex fashionista notices of.

Bigger, Bolder, Better…for Sports Illustrated?

Models with last names like Benhati, Teigen, Lima are regulars to the Sports Illustrated Annual Swimsuit Issue. But Ashley Graham, the first ever plus-size model to be seen in the infamous issue, will be cutting a historic figure indeed when she appears in the yearly bikini edition hitting new stands next week.

3 Quick Tips For Building Your Fantasy Wardrobe

Sure, we’d be the first to champion buying that https://dawnamatrix.com/shop/dresses/asymmetrical-ruffle-minidress-2/or one of our signature kimonos and jumping right into fantasy couture. But the reality of the situation is that one should take baby steps when changing or adding to one’s wardrobe with latex or any other alternative fashion pieces. Maybe you can start with a pair of latex pants, a shirt, or some lingerie (something only a few people might see.) Start simple for your first salvo across the bow of your fantasy wardrobee

Post Holiday Festive Latex?

Have you survived the eight days? Did you manage to get through the nog and the cookies? Gearing up for Kwanzaa? Did you happen to catch The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies or Take Five? Tuckered out from all the visiting and gift exchanging? Did you steel your courage and actually venture to the mall? Surely, the last thing you might be thinking about right now is squeezing yourself into our https://dawnamatrix.com/shop/corsets/galaxy-corset/ or a pair of https://dawnamatrix.com/shop/bottoms-m/straight-leg-trousers-2/ ,but that festive feeling swirling around you still should always be present in your latex wardrobe choices.

Black Color Fashion

This past week American fashion seems to be have run ‘in the black’…good and bad. Jennifer Aniston donned the classic LBD at the People Magazine Awards in L.A and was applauded for her fashion sense (and figure) in blog-o-sphere headlines and online pictures. While Kim Kardashian blasted her mom Kris Jenner for wearing her signature black, what the Kim called “Omish sh—t” outfits of late (she probably meant Amish, right?).

Kaia Jordan Gerber Makes Her Modeling Move With Her Family Kept Close

There really is no minimum age for modeling, and being 13 serves one perfectly when one is on the fast track to being one of the most talked about teen models. Keeping this in mind, Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Jordan Gerber is making the most of her youth, look and lineage, as could be seen this week when her famous mom shared Instagram photos from Kaia’s Teen Vogue shoot.

Heidi Klum Spreads Her Butterfly Wings

Klum’s annual bash, this year presented at Tao Nightclub on Halloween night, is a must-be-seen-scene. Completely covering herself in blue and green, Klum sported an impressive semi-opaque wing span and antennas for this once-a-year bash that always seems to make the big blogs’ lists. And while 2014’s All Hallows saw Kim Kardashian sporting a body suit with a skeleton design rendered across it (reminding us of our own Cthulhu Catsuit), Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady headed out with their kids as a dragon family and Katy Pery managed to step out as a rather unimpressive Cheeto®, when it comes to celebs dressing as butterflies this year we were particularly interested. Butterfly’s lighted on our new Space and Time Collection, represented in a new bodysuit, corset, skirt and vest. It’s a style that interests more than just supermodels for Halloween.

Dita Von Teese in NYC

Dita must have stock in Swarovski. She cavorted in a head-to-toe pink Swarovski crystal, twirling sparkling six shooters, a bejeweled cowgirl Stetson and custom Christian Louboutin “Lou-BOOT-ins” (with shiny spurs) and matching pink bustier and girdle, stripping down to ride a mechanical bull pretty much unlike anyone you have ever seen ride it; she stripped out of a Alexis Mabille super sexy tight tux revealing a custom-made corset by Mr. Pearl, then got down to pasties and panties to splash in sparkling water in a Swarovski encrusted super-sized martini glass (this was actually the piece that opened the show); swung round her newly added “Bird Cage” piece, as water rained down her raven hair and she ended the show in a blood red Swarovksi gown of Cheongsam design (and we know all about Cheongsam and Asian influences, see our kimonos here) stripping in an opulent draped Opium Den set piece where hands jutted through to caress Dita in ways we were all envious of.

Fashion Rocks 2014

The New York Fashion Week charity star-studded Fashion Rocks hit Barclays Center in Brooklyn this past Tuesday night. What with the VMA’s just past, the Emmys too, it seems we are as much inundated with these affairs this time of year as any other. But if you can’t be drawn-in by super models and pop music then you probably are pretty much sleeping through 2014.
