What ISN’T He Wearing; Robin, The Boy Wonder, Is Truly A Wonder In “Grayson”

The re-imagining of a character that ranked #1 in Comic Alliance’s “The 50 Sexiest Male Characters” pole is how often Mr. Grayson is quite James Bond-ian in nature. Gone is the good teen, “Holy” this and that’s for this character who was originally conceived as a younger (and more brightly costumed) counter to the considerably darker Dark Knight. But in “Grayson” the bright costume is replaced-or at least only half used lots of the time-as we see Robin swinging his rather impressive torso (remember he comes from a family of high wire circus performers) this way and that. Spanish based artist Janín actually uses 3D software and human models to aid his rendering fluid physicality needed for this update that is decidedly so sexy.

Celebrating Photographer Mary Ellen Mark

Moving from her home state of Pennsylvania to NYC in the mid 60’s, Mark chronicled lots of the city’s social ills in the last half of the decade and beyond. As much a photographer as documentarian filmmaker, with her husband director Martin Bell she created the much celebrated (and Academy Award nominated) film Streetwise, a movie that chronicled three decades of a crack-addicted prostitute and was indicative of those ‘tougher’ subjects Mark was interested in (Streetwise actually began as photographic expose Mark was commissioned to shoot for Life magazine.)

Cannes 2015 Fashion

So Cannes…you got to go this year, right? Don’t feel bad, we didn’t jet over with Russell Crowe this year either (he so never asks team Dawnamatrix to accompany him anywhere, the nerve of some Aussies!) For those of us who didn’t make the movie event of the year, or for some who did, the fashions folks wore across red carpets, coming on and off of boats, and sailing through parties like the AIDS Gala at the the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc have been a wonder to behold. One hopes for a big latex plugsuit making an appearance some year, but alas we can content ourselves with some great styles, and the stylish celebs who wore them.

Dawnamatrix Designs & Von Gutenberg Issue #9…A Perfect Fit

There is Ella Kross from Tel-Aviv wearing our Lace Gown, Crissy Daniels shows-off in our Pinstripe Infusion Minidress as well as modeling one of our unique accessories, in this case our Dragon Fin Collar. The Richard, the only featured male model this time around in the magazine (a horror movie/alt.model/rock and roll scene-ster Canadian native) who exemplifies the move-theme of this Von Gutenberg issue, and actually models for us in our online catalogu, shows-off his powerfully built bod in our Damask Vest, Men’s Galaxy Zip Tank, Plug Style Catsuit and Straight Leg Trousers.

In The End…It’s All About The Gown!

Here are some photographs of model Olivia Dantes wearing our Enchantment Wedding Gown. Olivia was shot by the wonderful Gina Barbara (her URL here). Gina was also responsible for Olivia’s hair and MUA for the shoot, talented lady that she is.

Dawnamatrix ‘Flutters By’ In Beau-Nu’s May 2015 “Creative” Issue.

Not only does Lorraine look perfect in our latex and are Mia’s pictures arresting (the two recently worked together here showcasing other Dawnamatrix butterfly pieces) but the setting in these shots, and the delicate posing of Lorraine instantly reminds one of those infamous Cottingley Fairie pictures (seen to the right here). Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths might have fooled quite a bit of folks back in early 20th century England (in the end it was reasoned but never conclusively proved that the cousins posed with cutout fairie pictures) including the famous Arthur Conan Doyle, but in these Beau-Nu shots there is no mistaking model and photographer working so very hard to present magic of a high order indeed!

Dawnamatrix on Fox’s GOTHAM

In the “The Anvil or the Hammer” episode, Donal Logue’s “Detective Harvey Bullock” sauntered into the very upscale, tricked-out fetish club, “Foxglove.” It was a beautiful bar/lounge with equally beautiful people and garments, and even engraved invitations. There was a man in a diaper and mask being fed a bottle, lots of leggy dames, a stage at one end, and two distinct ‘school girls’ dressed in black mid thigh, high collar dresses who happened to pogo-like walk by the detective…wearing our tube socks! It made for a spectacular long shot of our wares.

Getting’ Sexy At The 2015 Met Gala

The Gala, one of NYC’s biggest annual events, celebrated the Met’s “China: Through the Looking Glass” exhibition. The many rooms of this year’s featured collection is bigger and bolder then most of what the Met attempts, with a great grand history of the ancient culture represented in everything from high couture to Ming Vases. Having an affinity for the east as we do, with our Japanese-influenced latex kimonos and our Asian dragon dresses we certainly champion a western institution like the Met revealing the influence of another culture, one far from its American shores.

All The News That Kinda Fits: The Katy Perry Sundress Controversy, RiRi For Puma and Some Calvin and Skin From Kendall Jenner

Colorful and cute, you say (and yes, we are down with flowers adorning dresses, see here…) surely, but some folks take the flowers to be a statement of support for the Sunflower Student Movement (this is a group of students who have taken to protesting a trade deal between Taiwan and China). Katy has been sporting sunflowers in her Prismatic tour since it began and she did not comment about what she may-or may not have-meant wearing her dress and cape.
