Montreal Fetish Weekend 2014

As we have expounded and opined about/over before, Montreal Fetish Weekend is truly an amazing event of the lifestyle curious, the fantasy live-r, the see-and-be scene-ster. It is also the time when we here at Dawnamatrix reveal a bunch of new designs. To say we are looking forward to Montreal Fetish Weekend 2014 would be a …

Jersey Boys Fashions

Yes, we are paying lots of attention to summer movies here. There were those few blogs about the magnificent Maleficent (the fantasy outfits, hair styles, make-up Angelina Jolie sported were just too fetish-y wonderful to ignore). And we’ve opined about superhero-like fare that’s upon us this summer to. But ‘reality movies’ (in fact a bio pic) can also have lots of wonderful fashion in them and this is certainly case with the super smart suits and 50’s/60’s fashions in the new Jersey Boys movie.

The Ever Popular Leopard Print Latex

As latex wearers as much as designers we want ever more captivating colors, luscious cuts and sexy styles and if and when we can manage them, certainly prints of outstanding quality and rendering across our latex. We seem to have hit on a very popular ‘trend’, something we certainly did not predict but are thrilled to exploit all the same, our Leopard Print Latex.

National Emergency: Kendall Jenner Shows Her Hip Bones At MuchMusic Video Awards!

Not that the young woman and her family haven’t enjoyed copious amounts of press already but Kendall Jenner really wowed them all at Sunday night’s MuchMusic Video Awards. Fashion and The World Cup 2014

As much as we go on about fashion, modeling, latex clothing, summer super hero movies, Art in America and good old fetishes there is no ignoring The World Cup 2014. And if you think for a second that there isn’t a fair amount of reporting, critique and just downright amazement of what the players are wearing on the field as much as on how they are playing then you are simply ignoring how much fashion cuts a deep color swatch into modern day sports.

Art In America: Julia Reidhead's ‘Starry Night’ Prom Dress

Julia is an 18 year-old high school senior who was simply not content with the prom dress possibilities presented her. With her mom the Arizona young woman purchased a “used” wedding dress (for the pricey sum of $40) and then actually painted upon that dress-painted mind you!-a recreation of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

Dawnamatrix Celebrates Bunny Yeager

There is no way we could do what we do here at Dawnamatrix without the groundbreaking work women like Bunny Yeager did for fashion, photography and the general exploration and consideration of the full rich possibilities of the nude female form as art. Fantasy-based fashion, sexy costume-ry, fetish iconography all were birthed from the pictures, attitude and daring of ladies like Bettie Page and Bunny Yeager (have you seen the Katy Perry/Madonna ‘Power of Pop’ photos in the June issue of “V” magazine…talk about being influenced!) We as much recognize a talent like Bunny Yeager as we are inspired by her, even more so impressive considering that this lady worked in a time when the types of photographs she took could be, and often were, sited as pornographic and therefore against the law.

Getting’ Maleficent-ied

We’ve covered Maleficent previously-don’t worry nobody is that scatterbrained round the Dawnamatrix offices that we forget what we write about-but the film’s early popularity seems to be about more than just some cool costuming and effects. Sure Angelina Jolie is a certified superstar and literally inhabits the role of the pure-hearted young lady who grows into an evil forest queen but beyond the $70 million opening it seems the world at large is getting Maleficent-fied.

Beyond the action figures that get launched on the public with a movie of this sort, Este
