McDonald’s Feeds The Evil Empire

If they would have only asked we could have easily suggested where some latex accessories might have been added to update the look. Or why not even outfit the out front counter help with a catsuit or two (guys and glas both)? It seems though that the McDonald’s Corp. simply went ahead enlisting the services of designers Waraire Boswell and Bindu Rivas to develop brand new uniforms for their workers. And those uniforms are now coming under a social media firestorm, least of all for their too-easy comparison to costume designs from villains in the Star Wars franchise.

Peter W. Czernich’s Dominatrix

As a top fetish photographer, and the man who began “Marquis,” Peter W. Czernich claims “shooting dominant women has been one of my specialties,” and Czernich shoots them in latex costumes, rubber clothing, leather, you name it. His latest (and fourth) photo book, Dominatrix debuts this summer and Czernich is currently running a Crowdfunding site for the completion of the book.

UNLEASHED Amsterdam Spring Event

As always at UNLEASHED events, there will be a top of the line sound system featured, pounding out the spins from DJ’s like Joyce Mercedes, Melissa Sneekes and Sofia Valentine, (to name but a few performing this time out). There will be performers on hand as well, with this time the 6-girl “Mad Pussy Gang,” featured to ‘unleash’ their pyro, juggling, dancing madness. Also, as always, UNLEASHED provides many different areas for people to come and party/meet in: dark out-of-the-way corners for canoodling, their big dance floor spaces to get one’s rave on, ‘chill out’ areas for partiers to snuggle close for simple conversations and handholding away from the mayhem.

Dawnamatrix collaborates with artist Lana Crooks for the World of Wearable Art competition

Dawnamatrix and sculptor and fiber artist Lana Crooks collaborated to make a dress for the upcoming World of Wearable Art competition in New Zealand. WOW® is a globally respected and renowned international design competition. Yearly it draws hundreds of entries from all over the world, awarding $165,000 in prize money, and internships with huge creative companies, like the Weta Workshop, known for their work on “The Lord Of The Rings” trilogy, among others films.

Rockin’ Billboard, Part 2

As much talking about musicians like Katy Perry and getting the call from stylist Andrew Richardson to create what has, to date, been one of our most seen creations, the inflatable skirt and “Skater Dress” for CoverGirl’s “Plumpify Mascara” commercial, Shira also delved deep into the Dawnamatrix story. I loved how her article focused on the topic of running a latex fashion business, not just on Katy Perry latex (which could be a whole article in itself, especially for a music magazine) or cosplay or any other mainstream latex placement.

Dawnamatrix and Billboard, A ‘Rockin’ Match-Part 1

Latex clothing and Billboard? Why not, we say. Writer Shira Karsen, the Lifestyle Editor for Billboard.com recognizes how the styles and material we so love are slipping ever further into the mainstream in her just published: “The Fashion Designer Bringing Latex From Cosplay to Katy Perry & Nicki Minaj: Exclusive”…an exclusive with, yours truly!

Finding Latex In Paris

Add to that intrigue DeMasK’s recent opening in the basement of Metamoprh’Ose/Phylea and anything is possible between Pomidou Center and Marsais presently.

Hillary In Leather

Culturally we’ve pretty much come to expect the black jacket turn from men. From Brando in “The Wild One,” to Elvis’ ’68 “Comeback Special” (dressed in head-to-toe black leather actually) to John Travolta’s T-Bird leader in Grease, the ubiquitous leather jacket has been recognized as male king-of-the-heap style. Yes, we did have Beyoncé wearing her Dsquared2 black leather jacket during her 2016 Super Bowl half-time show, but for a woman of such important feminist presence as Hillary Clinton sporting a leather jacket makes a statement indeed. And that the ex-First Lady chose these particular wardrobe choices at this specific conference made an even bigger impact around the web.
