Who Wore What: The 2018 People’s Choice Awards, The Country Music Awards and The 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards

The angels might have them all beat in their leather and lace, wings and latex, but there were nearly back to back mainstream awards shows revealing lots of cool haute couture this week: the 2018 People’s Choice Awards, The Country Music Awards and lastly the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.

On Sunday evening in Santa Monica, the celebrities showing up for the People’s Choice Awards came in sequins and silhouettes. Aly Raisman wore a sparkly mini Balmain, Rita Ora brightened things up in a light purple Versace, and Danai Gurira led a train in her beaded fringe and feathers.

Victoria Beckham, honored this night with a ‘Fashion Icon Award,’ was dressed elegantly and simply in a crisp white suit.

Pretty tame by most fashionista’s standards; no alternate wardrobe here.

Fast forward a few days to the Country Music Awards. Surely cowboy hats, boots, and fringe are de rigueur styles of the day here. But once again there was lots to admire and appreciate of the fashions of our modern country music brightest.

Co-host now for eleven years in a row, Carrie Underwood was the most ‘noticeable,’ showing off her ‘baby bump’ in a form-fitting nude Uel Camilo gown with embroidered pink and purple flowers. That ‘nude’ gown style, seen these days on lots of stars at lots of these types of events, was worn most impressively by Olivia Culpo. She attended the CMA’s in a see-thru black gown with sparkly embellishments, a full black panty in evidence underneath. For sheer color, Kelsea Ballerini sported a full wild pink gown with a train, while TK McKamy also wore pink (satin) and pink Gucci loafers that matched.

But Alisha Wainwright wore a Maggie Marilyn candy cane dress that could not be ignored for color extravagance.

The last event of the week, the Latin Grammy’s, saw stars reveal the most risqué, alternative and downright sexiest fashions of all three events. Ana de la Reguera stepped high and proud in her billowing magenta top and little black hot pants. Halsey wore that nude dress style; hers draped with light color beads. Her close-cropped hair and the body-hugging floor length gown made her look like a 20’s flapper.

Revealing her left leg to just under her ribcage Karol G. showed the most skin of the night in her sexy and elegant billowy teal dress. And not something much seen at these award shows, and the winner across all three of the events for the wildest accessory, Kalisto and his wife, Abigail Rodriguez, wore masks for this Grammy event.

Mild, wild, colorful, revealing, all three shows certainly gave us an eyeful. But where was the latex?
