Not that it sported any latex couture (there’s one demerit) but when Vogue World debuted in New York in 2023, it turned a section of The Big Apple downtown into a combination of runway and parade, all out in the open air, with vogue models and even Lil Nas X performing. In London, the ‘world’ featured Annie Lennox and a performance of the UK’s best bard, Shakespeare. June 2024 saw Vogue World take over Paris’s Place Vendôme with Bad Bunny, and nearly 700 wardrobe looks.
Now Vogue World is returning to the States, set to land in Hollywood on 10/26/2025. And as one can expect in LA, this time fashionistas and fans alike will enjoy the intersection of film and fashion and those most inspiring characters of cinema history.
So far, these Vogue World events have donated more than $3 million to various organizations; all of the ticket proceeds for the upcoming L.A. spin will go to the Entertainment Community Fund. This group currently supports costume community professionals impacted by the devastating, and all too recent Los Angeles fires. The Paramount Pictures Studios Lot in Hollywood will host the Vogue World fashion/film tribute, and as the magazine’s global editorial director and Condé Nast chief content officer, Anna Wintour revealed at last month’s press conference:
“Vogue World: Hollywood will be a one-night-only show with a huge cast of models and actors, setting great film costumes next to brilliant fashion collections. By mixing fashion and the arts and culture in the center of a city, and by raising money for a cause, Vogue World has become a runway show-as-rallying cry—a way to fix the attention of a huge global audience, to bring awareness, and sound an unmistakable note of positivity, creativity, and hope.”
Hollywood costume professionals that will be featured include Colleen Atwood, Milena Canonero, Ruth E. Carter, and Arianne Phillips to name but a few. Juan Costa Paz is the creative director, Alex Harrington leads fashion and styling, and Dame Pat McGrath will orchestrate makeup design and execution.
