As close as we may ever get to Tom Brady wearing latex, a surprise illegal bounty found in some Skims and both Jane Fonda and a python making news at Cannes, here are some fashion bites we thought might be tasty for the beginning of this week.
Brady in Leather Gucci
Just this past Saturday, legendary multi-Super Bowl winning QB Tom Brady made his fashion catwalk debut…wearing leather. Walking for the Gucci Resort 2027 collection fashion show, held in New York’s Times Square, Brady strutted his best in all black, wearing leather pants and a jacket, over a black shirt.
Skims and Cocaine
This week a British court sentenced a truck driver for his smuggling arrest back in September. Jakub Jan Konkel, a polish truck driver, attempted to bring $9.4 million worth of cocaine into England, the drugs hidden in Skims undies. Konkel had stopped on his route from the Netherlands to the UK to pick up 90 packages (198 pounds) of the drug, wrapping the bundles into a specially adapted compartment in the truck’s back doors containing 28 pallets of Skims.
Jane and a Snake At Cannes
So much is made of the fashions we see at the yearly Cannes Film Festival…more maybe than the movie premiers? This year’s 79th version of the event was no different. After a slew of posts last year over the mega-movie festivals red carpet couture restrictions, and a seeming progression of ever more revealing celebrity couture, the standouts for us (so far), actually did not show much skin.
Eighty-eight-year-old legend Jane Fonda arrived at Cannes in a curve-accentuating Gucci gown. Attending the opening ceremony as part of her long partnership with L’Oréal Paris, Fonda’s dress, covered in shimmering sequins, surely made news on the Croisette.
About as far from a legendary film actress as one can be, TikTok creator Jordan (@jo.rdyyy) enjoyed what she was most after, a viral post about her attempting to leave her transportation to the festival while wearing her form-fitting python dress. Her extreme outfit was so restrictive she had to lie completely flat in the back seat of her transportation to the festival and caught on video a French riot police officer’s surprise when opening her car door seeing Jordan sprawled before him.
