OMG Fashun…OMG Latex?

In a week might we be able to say “OMG, latex?”

We have surely seen enough television broadcast competition shows to last us a lifetime. And lots play with fashion. From Next in Fashion to the many seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race. But next week Julia Fox will host the new E! Fashion show OMG Fashun, that might prove to be quite unlike anything we have ever seen.

In her official statement on the show, Fox says:

OMG Fashun is shaping the future of fashion, emphasizing sustainability, upcycling, and creative craftsmanship to restore integrity to this art form. Being the most stylish person in the room doesn’t require breaking the bank; all it takes is creativity and a dash of confidence. My biggest hope is that our viewers will get inspired by what we create on the show and recreate the looks at home using all the old junk they have lying around!”

Joining Fox as co-host of OMG Fashun is stylist Law Roach, plus a revolving cast of guest hosts appearing each week. And as we all know Fox has sure bona fides in the area of alt fashion. She began as a clothing designer, launching a knitwear line called Franziska, has modeled in campaigns for Tiffany & Co. Supreme and in editorials for “Vogue,” “The Face,” and “Interview” as well as has acted in movies like Uncut Gems.

And all along the way the lady has surely rocked a wild outfit or two, and some certainly made of latex.

The premise of OMG Fashun is that each episode will feature the challenge for three designers to create a “boundary-breaking” look worthy of Fox’s ultimate approbation. Using unusual materials and rendering in the most unique way possible, the three contestants create an ensemble under the pressure of a running clock. The guest panel judge which of the three is the “fashion disruptor” for the episode. The end of the season crowns the best designer/disruptor from each episode’s winners and then they receive style a $10,000 prize and Fox modeling their outfit.

Will one of the ‘unusual’ materials used be latex?

OMG Fashun premiers with two back-to-back episodes on Monday, May 6, at 9 p.m. on E!.
