Everybody likes to be desired and we certainly felt that way when our latex couture was included in the new book, Objects of Desire: A Showcase of Modern Erotic Products and the Creative Minds Behind Them.
Authors Rita Catinella Orrell and designer Jason Scuderi have created a luscious hard cover here of items one could certainly seriously desire. Scuderi and Orrell contacted us about a year ago and with photographer Paul Allan shooting the pictures (we have worked plenty with the super talented Mr. Allan before) we brought to life the Dawnamatrix style of latex fashion for the book’s Fashion and Jewelry section.
What we fashioned for the book was a bit of our biography, some photos from our Space & Time collection, as well as pictures of our Spiked Bodysuit and our Galaxy Mermaid Gown. As lots of these fantasy wardrobe pieces were meant to appeal to the fetish world as well as the mainstream, we’re quite pleased to be recognized by the editors of Objects of Desire as examples of what they wanted to show of latex fashion as product design.
We certainly have been experiencing the very best in acceptance and accolades from our peers of late and are so truly tickled about it. Fetish fashions are as much slipping into the mainstream (something that we report on so often these days it seems like a mantra) as fantastic costuming, sexy wear, even adult toys are and rightfully being considered ‘art.’
Placement of our clothing and a chance to tell our story in books like Objects of Desire: A Showcase of Modern Erotic Products and the Creative Minds Behind Them, makes us feel so very desired indeed…and so very happy.
We thank Rita Catinella Orrell, Jason Scuderi (and Paul Allan) for letting us be part of their vision. See their new book here.
