Let’s Talk J. Lo’s Cut-Outs

Championing alt. wedding couture as we do with our latex gowns, we couldn’t help but notice the stunning sexy gown Jennifer Lopez wears in her just dropped “Can’t Get Enough” video (see here). And when watching the video, it’s impossible not to think about cut-outs.

J.Lo’s daring, mermaid-style gown reveals two heart-shaped cutouts at its front, exposing the 54-year-old singer’s beautifully sculpted abs and upper thighs (she’s just about covered actually). This gown might just be the ‘in’ item for the daring bride this season. J.Lo wears a second wedding gown later in the Dave Meyers-directed video, a short, strapless white dress that she accessorizes as much with red roses at her waist as white thigh highs. This is surely a look the modern bride is probably already wearing, as short wedding dresses have been seen in modern nuptials again and again.

Although our cheeky skirt might be an extreme example (and one you need be ever careful where you wear it), cut-outs are not unusual as much in latex couture as they are in all kinds of alternative fashions or even straight-laced, mainstream couture. Surely Lopez’s gown, seen in the screen capture above, is like her jungle-green, torso split Versace Grammy dress in that it’s pretty much built for J.Lo to wear (and wear it so well). But we might just see more of this kind of wedding dress post this video.

Beyond the couture here, it is fun watching J.Lo make fun of her run of past marriages. She was married to Ojani Noa, Chris Judd and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has two 15-year-old twins. In the video, when Lopez throws her bouquet, one of her guests says, “Don’t catch it, it’s cursed.”

“Can’t Get Enough,” is the first single of Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming album “This Is Me… Now,” to be released, Feb. 16th.
