fashion fightS coronavirus

Might a latex accessory help keep one protected from the coronavirus?

So far, we have all seen as much disinformation as real science fact thrown far and wide about COVID-19. With panic in the current pandemic fed and fueled in the lightning-fast dissemination of information we have at our fingertips it’s not so easy keeping oneself realistically informed. The current CDC guidelines for minimizing the risk of exposure to the virus include; staying out of large groups of people, but if you have to be around others maintaining that ‘social distancing’ edict of six-foot separation; washing your hands properly, and if you are sick, wearing a protective mask in public.

As you see from model Dutch Dame here, accessories like gloves (granted not exactly wrist-length latex gloves) masks (though not a bespoke latex mask as we show here….and a waist cincher) are certainly the items one can use during this time. We figured we’d use this alt. fashion shot (photographed Paul Allan) to make our fashionable point about protection.

Speaking of fashion and the virus….

LVMH (Louis Vuitton SE) not only donated twenty-two million dollars to the Red Cross in China they are producing free sanitizing gel in their luxury factory facility. They will distribute the gel to local hospitals in France.

Italian fashion blogger and designer Chiara Ferragni began an online fundraising campaign. Using her very popular influencing voice across her blog, The Blonde Salad and beyond, her campaign has already raised over four million dollars for hospitals in Italy.

Prada S.p.A. announced they would be funding two new ICUs in three Milan hospitals. Donatella Versace and Allegra Versace Beck are putting over $200,000 into the intensive care units of the San Raffaele hospital. And Giorgio Armani donated over one-million to a round of hospitals in Italy, with Marco Bizzarri, chief executive officer of Gucci, giving more than $100,000 of his own money to hospitals in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. This area has reported some of the highest numbers of people infected with coronavirus.

Our industry is stepping up and we couldn’t be prouder.

Here at Dawnamatrix, we hope everyone applies scientifically sound protocols for making sure we all stay as healthy as we can. Together we will see this crisis through and come out stronger than ever.
