Having seen latex, leather, feathers, and lots of skin at the BET’s in the past, we figured the BET Awards 2022 wouldn’t disappoint when it came to couture. It certainly didn’t and may have proved that the people who populate this award show are some of the sexiest and best dressed of all these kinds of celebrity get-togethers. The men and women here certainly came out in some fantastic alternate wardrobe choices.
The guys outfitted themselves spectacularly in colorful and fashion wild suits. Actor Blackson popped in a bright yellow, turquoise, and pink jacquard blazer, over a bare torso. He matched with coral-colored pants and purple-and-yellow loafers. Skyh Alvester Black also went shirtless in a two-tone aqua suit, accessorizing with metallic boots. Giveon went with a Western look, wearing a black waxed jacket, sporting silver studs. He was one of the many who paired with one of our favorite textiles, wearing orange leather pants. American rapper Saucy Santana dressed in a yellow-and-green checkered blazer-dress with matching furry neon boots dressed of ombré fur. And Young Dirty Bastard strutted down the red carpet in black jacket and cape, sporting the cover art from his dad’s album, “Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.”
Model Shaun Ross was in all black simple shirt and pants. Lena Waithe wore a pastel blue suit with pink and mint tickling its lapels. Coi Leray went with another interesting textile, all in wearing an oversized denim blazer, denim shorts, and knee-high denim boots. The pieces here were all made by Alexander Wang. And Lizzo was draped in a navy gown with black feather trim and thigh slit.
By far, though, Summer Walker showcased the most alternative fashion couture (and showed her body the most) wearing a gold-and-black Hmong jewelry-inspired outline bra with matching gold pasties a black and gold miniskirt of coins, with wrist cuffs; stunning, arresting and sexy, for sure.
The above is only some of the high-end alternate couture attendees wore at the 2022 BET Awards, all of it fantastic.
