Just recently, we got even more Aguilera in latex.
At the tail end of last week, the 40-year-old singer and mom posted a picture on Instagram wearing black latex pants and a latex trench. As any knowledgeable alt. fashionista would, Aguilera accessorized her latex wardrobe with patent leather; pointy toe pumps with spikes. And keeping with another recent highly stylized hair trend, Aguilera has her blond locks parted in a sexy ‘wet look.’
The singer was dressed here for a night out sponsored by Master Class. Xtina is teaching singing classes for the company this year.
As we have opined plenty, a pop diva need not only be unafraid to be themselves but to try and find a style as much part of the zeitgeist as to lead it. No small feat, to be sure. A diva who knows this certain fact of modern-day stardom well, just like Aguilera, is Lady Gaga. Making a stunning round of appearances for her House of Gucci movie, the singer who plays Patrizia Reggiani, in the film, has been making news with the haute couture she has been wearing on red carpets at the movie’s press showings.
Seemingly more Lady Gaga fashion shows than film press opportunities; Gaga has been beating herself at each appearance with the outfits she has been showing up in. From an Armani Privé gown with see-thru halter top and velvet skirt (matched with 8-inch Pleaser boots), to a floor-length purple Gucci gown, set at her waist, the sleeves of the dress undulating butterfly-like ‘wings’ showing off Gaga’s legs in black fishnet tights. She wore six-inch platform combat boots for this ensemble.
Lady Gaga wore a different Italian fashion label’s creation, a red corset Versace gown, with a modern bodycon silhouette and long train at the most recent outing for he film.
Following our modern-day divas showing off weekly in their latex, lace, and designer haute couture can be a full-time job. But it is, oh so much fun.
