Sydney Gets Low For American Eagle, ‘That’ Iconic White Suit and No More Bespoke Moomoo’s For Whoopi?

Sorry, not a hint of latex couture in this second of the week fashion news round up. But we think these are three interesting fashion stories to take note of.

Sydney Gets Low For American Eagle

We all saw what happened when Sydney Sweeney signed up for the gene/jeans campaign for American Eagle, back in 2025. The “Euphoria” actress is once again featured in A.E. ads, this time for the company’s brand-new low-rise jean campaign. S.S. shared a post on her Instagram last week, wearing denim on denim, with a white top, declaring: “it’s low rise season 💙 @americaneagle #AEpartner.”

Another Season, Another Costume Auction

Estimates are that the iconic white suit John Travolta wore in the equally iconic Saturday Night Fever will fetch a cool $400,000, if not more at L.A.’s Propstore’s Summer Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, 8/26-/8/29. The suit, previously owned by film critic/T.V. personality Gene Siskel, also contains a handwritten inscription from Travolta.

The four-day live auction will feature over 1,700 film and television pieces of memorabilia, estimating in total (pre-sale) ten million dollars.

Also, up this time around; “Frank the Rabbit’s” costume from Donnie Darko, the mosquito- in-amber fossil from Jurassic Park, and Michael Keaton’s Batsuit from 1992’s Batman Returns.

Moomoo No More?

Not that anyone has, of yet, actually confirmed the specific facts of what is happening at ABC TV, but there’s been reports of upcoming possible budget cuts to the network’s programs. And last week it was reported that those budget cuts might affect the popular lady-led talk-show The View, with co-host salary slashing (pay cuts to the show have been ongoing ever since Season 29’s premiere in September of last year). The changes that might also be soon ‘viewed’ on the show are the co-hosts’ wardrobe choices. Again, the unsubstantiated skinny is that the show’s ladies will have to halt wearing the designer duds they usually do.

No one has said yet if host, Whoopi Goldberg—whose salary has not been cut—will still have her choice of the interesting footwear she has been known to show off and a bespoke moomoo or two.
