Latex playing its part in the many thrilling cosplay costumes at Comic-Con 2026, a fiery splash of red on hundreds in Brighton, Didi Conn showing up in London wearing her famous pink jacket, all this made the fashion news this week.
Giving RR a run for his Deadpool
Sure Paul Rudd, Robert Downey Jr. and even Ryan Reynolds, showing up to surprise the crowd in an all-denim Deadpool costume, was cool. But the real stars of any Comic-Con are always the cosplayers. Trending characters in San Diego last weekend ran the gambit from Cyberpunk heroes, RPG icons, classic anime characters and of course, the usual round of superheroes. From reports posted across the net it seemed there was a preponderance of folks dressed as Taro Sakamotos, Rudo, Coco, Supergirl, and even a few Deadpool’s rivaling Reynolds.
As one post put it, what stood out was the Comic-Con cosplayers’ attention to “creativity, personalization, and craftsmanship.”
Which is always the case.
Dance In Your Blood Red Tresses
If you came upon a seaside in Folkestone Kent England last weekend and saw hundreds of folks dressed in flowing red dresses, don’t worry, you didn’t trip into some bizarre couture ritual. Instead, people lined the shorelines there, dancing pretty much in unison participating in the annual The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, the gathering of fans celebrating Kate Bush’s1978 hit of the same name and the singer/songwriter’s birthday.
Last year’s event raised over £1,000 for Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS).
Didi In Pink
Actress Didi Conn, famous as the couture head Frenchy of the Pink Lady’s in the movie Grease, made a rare appearance, in a Pink Lady satin jacket no less. Conn was at the Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical at London’s Battersea Park on Thursday, July 23. Watching this stage version of the famous movie she was in, which in turn was a version of an original stage production, Conn, at age 75, not seen so much these days, enjoyed the show, and at one point, was wearing a pink jacket.
