Summer Travel, Museum Fashion Exhibits And You?

This summer, are you traveling a bit, looking to maybe catch some unusual museum exhibits, maybe even with one or two showing a hint of latex? In their just released The 10 Best Fashion Exhibits to See This Summer, Harper’s Bazaar lays out a few suggestions, pretty much far and wide.

Here are a few

As we blogged about here, The Met Costume Institute took on black dandyism in their new exhibit, which this year’s Met Gala was centered around. Called: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, this is the first exhibit from the Costume Institute dedicated to menswear in over two decades.

Find it here: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style – The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

It runs through 10/26/2025.

A couple you can catch in old London town include:

Back near a decade ago, we reported on the Undressed: A Brief History Of Underwear exhibit, that ran at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The famous London Museum has now opened its first major exhibition dedicated to the jewels of Cartier. Simply called Cartier, the exhibit, running until 11/16/2025, showcases 350 pieces, spanning the 20th and into the 21st century, as well as archived previously unseen drawings.

There is also the Cecil Beaton’s Garden Party. Running until September 21st of this year, this first-of-its-kind exploration of Beaton’s floral installations showcases many of his famous works, including the floral costumes he created for My Fair Lady.

In France you might see:

The Savannah College of Art and Design is producing “Christian Dior: Jardins Rêvés at SCAD FASH Lacoste. Featuring couture, sketches, and accessories designed by Christian Dior and some of his successors like Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, and more. It runs until 9/28/2025.

And at the Lourvre, among all the other iconic works one can view Louvre Couture; Art, and Fashion: Statement Pieces. This marks the first fashion exhibition the famous museum has ever curated. The show features nearly fifty designers and fashion houses and runs until August 24th, 2025.

The MoMu – ModeMuseum in Antwerpen Fashion & Interiors: A Gendered Affair runs until August 3rd this year. It features Ann Demeulemeester, Craig Green, the Fondation Azzedine Alaïa, and many others exploring gender in their work.

And lastly at ArtScience Museum in Singapore is Iris Van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses. The exhibition, running now until August 10th this year, traveled from where it first was seen at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and showcases the work of Iris Van Herpen, with over 140 looks.

See one, see them all, maybe take a walk through some virtually, if the facility is available. Whatever you go to or dream about even, let’s just hope it includes some latex wardrobe.
