As we often like to, we’ve peppered this blog with some latex, alt. fashion, costume-y cultural news of the week.
Dawnamatrix client, American Idol judge and all-around super popstar diva (in the best way possible), and most importantly, new mom Katy Perry posted a stunning pic this week. Posing in a bathroom stall, Katy showed off her seemingly returned stunning figure in a black leather Alexander McQueen dress. She accessorized, which we know can truly make an alternative haute couture wardrobe, with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, which, in the picture, Perry stands in, balanced on the stall’s toilet seat.
The World of WearableArt show is as close to our heart as any fashion event will ever be and tickets for 2021’s WOW went on sale this week (an exclusive “Stageside Experience” is being offered this year, where attendees can sit at catered tables right up to the action). WOW promises this year’s attendees a “journey through a world inspired by the Elizabethan Era,” with “Architecture,” “Avant-garde,” “Aotearoa,” and “Open,” just some of the sections participants are rendering their submissions for.

And if you go on over to this video advertisement you’ll see a snippet of the staging of our winning outfit “Gemini: The Twins” in the video clip.
Khloé Kardashian inadvertently posted an unedited bikini pic taken over Easter Weekend. The ‘mistake’ photo, posted on Twitter, was quickly taken down, but not without plenty of Kardashian fans grabbing a screenshot of it and sharing it. It seems Khloé’s fans like her sans photoshop (she does look extremely sexy, laying back, wearing a wisp of a bikini) and celebrated Khloé’s look far and wide. But the Kardashian’s PR team appears to be working behind the scenes to get the photo taken down, claiming copyright infringement.
And in seemingly matching picture getting news, Russian model Irina Shayk took to Instagram this week showing herself in grand, nearly nude style. Standing in thigh-highs and hidden heels, the lady revealed herself in a sheer-paneled catsuit, with a cutout back and black slicing. The shot was a teaser for Shayk’s work with Mugler’s spring wardrobe 2021 collection.
