Fashion Friendly Ocean’s 8

Could we possibly see some latex couture?

In the previous teasers and posted snapped shots from the production of the upcoming Ocean’s 8 movie, we have seen so much fashion. Not simply cinema wardrobe but the band of merry (all women) thieves in this movie are fashionably appointed and the plot is set right in the middle of the fashion universe; the ladies manage their main heist at the Met Gala. As reported so far, the haute couture cameos in this movie are plenty. Kim Kardashian was spotted on set wearing a sheer white Givenchy, her sister Kendall Jenner in Elie Saab, Kylie Jenner in a velour tracksuit, and Alexander Wang, Tommy Hilfiger and Anna Wintour make appearances as well.

Viewing the full Ocean’s 8 trailer (see it here) that dropped this week, one notices the main stars sporting just as much high fashion as the real fashion world guests. Sandra Bullock, who plays “Debbie Ocean” (she’s the sister of “Danny,” played by George Clooney in those three other modern Ocean films) grabs for a white mink in the clip. We catch sight of Rihanna in as stunning red gown, Mindy Kaling in shining gold and Care Blanchett in green…and that’s just in the Gala scenes. There is even a quick shot of the ladies taking in a fashion show with a runway model sporting a classic stewardess ensemble.

Then there is the accessory to beat all accessories, the 150-million-dollar diamond necklace the women are gunning for, worn by Anne Hathaway, who plays super celeb “Daphne Kluger.” And to make sure we all are fully aware that this Ocean’s movie features ladies this time around, in the trailer the only male to make an appearance (and a small one at that) is James Corden and an updated version of “These Boots Were Made For Walking’” serves as the soundtrack to the clip.

Fashion, feminism and a good time surely; Ocean’s 8 opens on June 8th.
