Once again Dawnamatrix was at the intersection of latex couture and popular music. Thursday night Pitbull performed at the 2018 Latin American Music Awards and his dancers ‘The Most Bad Ones’ wore our bodysuits and thigh highs.
About midway through the #LatinAMAs down at the Dolby Theatre in L.A., Pitbull performed “Dame Tu Cosita” with Prince Royce and Ludacris. Then the slow sexy tune gave way to a bright orange stage backdrop, a bunch of dancers poured forth in red latex (not ours) and Pitbull lead the proceedings premiering his new single “Quiero Saber”! Six dancers quickly followed Pitbull, surrounding him center stage…and they were wearing our wardrobe pieces.
Pitbull reveals all (video and pictures) here on his website. See Billboard’s review here.
As we have mentioned before, when making outfits like this (and usually under a deadline) than shipping them out to be used, live, at some award show, we never truly know if what, if any of the pieces we send are going to be used. There are so many factors that can come between a stylist calling us (in this case Miami-based stylist Irma Martinez called us…thank you Irma!) and ordering something, than what we send actually seeing stage time. Sitting at the edge of our seats watching our flat screen waiting for a performer to take stage, then hoping to catch sight of our pieces is a particular type of anticipation we have now experienced a few times. But to see our outfits shown so well, and for such luscious close-ups, was an unprecedented thrill.
And we so love Pitbull!
We really are thrilled anytime we get to work in the pop world. Dressing Beyoncé’s dancers for the VMA’s, Katy Perry for a video, Nicki Minaj and now Pitbull, really we couldn’t be more honored. This is just another example of what all of us fashionistas and latex fans have known for so long; that what we love to wear looks good just about any place.
