Cannes Couture

Before we even try a report on the stunning couture seen across the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, know that model Mia Regan strutted into the new Martin Scorsese movie Killers Of The Flower Moon in a chrome tight latex slip dress that covered her from head to toe. Postings and pictures of her dressed in that latex couture are all over the net.

Now on to the rest…

Naomi Campbell walked the red carpet in a metallic gown, as she also did in a Valentino red dress with a see-through skirt and semi-revealing top. Victoria Bonya seemed to set down from mid-flight in her floor-length dress festooned with feathers across its bodice as well as its off-shoulder sleeves.  And Fan Bingbing was in a bespoke Christopher Bu, with a train and skirt that featured leaves and tigers.

Then there were all the metallic textiles. Beyond Campbell mentioned above, Pom Klementieff took to the red carpet in a bespoke purple Versace metallic dress (another lady you will see plenty of online this week) and Ester Expósito walked into the premier of the movie Black Flies in chain mail with slits.

Julie Fox made quite a few arresting couture appearances. In one she ‘freed the nipple’ in a see-through glass top and still later, she showed lots of herself again in a plastic top and bottom with fuzzy white pom-poms down her front. German actress Lilly Krug was in a barely-there pink pastel ensemble, revealing lots of her front, and Bella Hadid strutted in wearing only a gold necklace covering her chest.

And Spike Lee wore a suit of many colors, accessorizing with a pair of Nike sneakers.

Lastly, our more ‘mature’ celebrities made the news as Dame Helen Mirren dyed her hair blue to match her Del Core powder blue gown. While Catherine Deneuve was in a long silk Louis Vuitton that required three hundred hours of work to create.

Cannes couture never disappoints…and we also saw some latex this year!
