Beyoncé & Topshop

Beyonce-215227Enjoying the first-name basic relationship with do with Miss Bey (see here), and seeing as what follows is certainly ‘fashionable,’ we thought we’d get into this story today:

Beyoncé’s management firm and Topshop will launch The Parkwood Topshop Athletic label in autumn 2015. The superstar singer has had a long running relationship with Topshop for her personal couture and has dabbled in fashion marketing previously. Creating the House of Deréon brand with her mother and also working with Tommy Hilfiger on a range of fragrances, Jay Z’s wife might be the one woman to pull a partnership like this off.

Dawnamatrix supporter Beyoncé is not the only modern-day performer to partner with/create a fashion label or dabble in accessories. Less we forget Rihanna working with River Island, Madonna and her daughter Lourdes’ “Material Girl” selling at Macy’s; the list of pop and fashion working business models and creating brands together grows daily. In fact, it seems these days one isn’t a pop singer or famous personality without, at the very least, supporting or hawking for a couture label, creating a new collection with a fashion designer or developing a whole new brand.

Due to the mercurial nature of the pop world, we see labels, fragrances and accessories come…and go so quickly. In many cases we simply see a famous person putting their name on a product and not giving it all that much care beyond some inital campaigning or a Instagram pic or two. But this new 50/50 merger is something Beyoncé supports completely, as she claims: “I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with their development team to create and produce a technical and fashion led collection is exciting and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”

British-based Topshop has also been growing their business in the U.S. So this connection with Beyoncé will certainly bolster their newly launched American flagship stores and new concessions in Nordstrom.1414411580233_Image_galleryImage_Proprietor_Sir_Philip_Gre
