2022 SAG Award STyles

Vinyl, metal, and all kinds of other haute couture textiles made up the red carpet wardrobe for the 2022 SAG Awards, and even without any latex, it was all a spectacular showing. Held at L.A.’s Barker Hangar this past Sunday, our celebrity royalty outfitted themselves in high style, as much to show off who they were wearing as to probably feel good about being able to “strut their stuff” in what is hopefully our slow coming out of the pandemic

British actress Cynthia Erivo wore a bespoke red pleather Louis Vuitton ensemble complete with a matching faux fur cape embroidered with black, red, and silver crystals and chains. Accessorizing with vinyl shoes, the actress proving the most daring with her textile choice.

As has been the style for quite some years now, there was lots of leg showing, from Lety Sahagun in a black velvet gown to Amber Friendly in striking tangerine (she had a plunging neckline to go with her sky-high slit) and Alexandra Daddario in a metallic-looking Atelier Versace also showed plenty of well-turned-out gam.

Speaking of metallics, Faith Hill was dressed in a form-fitting metallic gown for the event.

Jessica Chastain, who won for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” was one of the few women who donned a suit for the evening; hers was a sparkly Dior.

And we had lots and lots of colors. In addition to Amber Friendly’s succulent tangerine, there was Janina Gavankar in a yellow Georges Chakra with a crazy train Ozzy Osbourne would have been jealous of, Michelle Meredith in rose-colored silk, Julianna Margulies in hot pink, and Florence Keith-Roach in red…and another dress with a long train.

Other than Venus Williams in white Dolce Gabbana over a silver corset, and Jared Ledo in a Gucci wrinkly silk pale blue suit, the outfit that arguably garnered the most attention (said to have “broken” the net most recently) was Lady Gaga’s white column Armani gown. With its gold sequin bodice, the form-fitting haute couture certainly saw the “House Of Gucci” star standout in a crowd of standouts.
