Dawnamatrix Outfits Katy Perry @The Barclays Center

And yet again we have a connection with Katy Perry and our latex clothing.

Recently we were contacted by the Artist Experience and Events department at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Barclays Center is a massive indoor arena, opened in 2012 and is the current home of basketball’s Brooklyn Nets and the New York Islanders hockey team, as well as hosting concerts such as The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. Barclays’ hospitality program creates customized gift items for all of their performing artists and over the years they have built a unique reputation of presenting some truly memorable pieces (examples of their past gifts can be seen here: https://twitter.com/hashtag/xBKLYN?src=hash). They have created a replica of Elvis’s ring for Bruno Mars, and Muppet versions of the band members of Green Day were created for that trio.
Katy Perry performed at the arena on Oct 11th and in keeping with their tradition of making each gift different and personalized to fit the artist, Barclays Center wanted something custom and memorable that really would stick out for Katy. They wanted something the pop star would really love, and something that also represented Brooklyn.

We were commissioned to make a jacket (see here) inspired by Katy’s song “Swish Swish”

The graphics are reminiscent of Brooklyn street art, and the tiger stripes match Katy’s “Swish Swish” music video. The laser-engraved latex dedication plaque inside represents the water towers of Brooklyn’s skyline. The packaging we sent the jacket in was specially made from laser cut acrylic, with the words Swish Wish Bish on the lid to match the jacket. A custom-made necklace was also included with our jacket, with the packaging and necklace both made by Snow Winters.

Dawnamatrix will be working with Snow in the future; more details on that later.

A special thank you to Alanna at The Barclays Center, Snow Winters, and Katy Perry for making this all possible. It was an honor!
