The Cars and Couture Fashion Show

The Cars and Couture Fashion show saw us present our sleek and sophisticated latex garments against bright automotive colors in a tribute to vintage style. We told you we were participating in this custom couture car clash at the beginning of June (see here). We are thrilled to report that the event, which happened on July 22nd, went off even better than we had hoped.

The LeMay America’s Car Museum in Tacoma was full with cars, attendees and styles. Along with Dawnamatrix, four other designers presented their latest wardrobe collections and accessories. We were up first, introduced by emcee Juliette Dang (see our outfits in the pics presented here), with Shady Bitch Eyewear on our models adding just that extra special touch.

Gustavo Apiti Couture followed, winner of 2017’s Chance Collaboration of the Year Award, then came Dream Dresses by PMN. PMN presented hand-beaded wildly imaginative bridal gowns, as stunning as any latex wedding dress we’ve seen (or created). An intermission followed where we all had a nibble, imbibed a bit and networked some more. The sun was just about setting at that point and the view of it dipping down across the harbor of Tacoma’s downtown added to the warmth and welcome we all felt inside the Car Museum.

The show continued with Independent Designer Runway winner at Bellevue Fashion Week 2012, Carole McClellan. She showed off fur and leather coats, hats and boots. Then Lisa Marie Couture, the second designer of the day to feature bridal wear (as well as evening wear) closed out the show. Her models accessorized with Namiko Abloom jewelry.

Up in the mezzanine of the LeMay accessory designers Love Letters Intimates, Victoria Stowe Collection, Opearl Brands and few others were on hand showcasing their wares.

We have certainly been on hand to contribute to runways at fashion exhibitions and lifestyle events. But The Cars and Couture Fashion Show really gave us a chance to show off our latex wares in a super cool, colorful setting, that wasn’t just about fashion.

It was a thrilling time out for Dawnamatrix and we only hope to be on hand next year.
