The UK Fashion Awards, a Skeleton Spine and More Christina Aguilera in Latex

From latex wardrobe choices to the return of big old shoulder pads to exploiting a wardrobe malfunction for fun and profit, and showing off one’s spine, the past week saw some rather fun fashion moments.

Here are a few…

The Fashion Awards, which occurred at the beginning of this week at London’s Royal Albert Hall, featured a who’s who of fashionistas. Presented by TikTok this year and raising funds for the BFC Foundation, celebrities who attended the night included Ex-Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima in an all-white, long-sleeved crop top and skirt with a thigh-high split and host Billy Porter, rocking a black and silver patterned ensemble with killer statement-wide shoulder pads. Singer, Charli XCX, was also on hand, wearing a cut-out Tommy Hilfiger, a daring choice by any means, but made more so in light of a very public wardrobe malfunction the lady suffered only a few days before. In an equally sexy gown, Charlie XCX saw her strap slip its place when announcing winners for a pre-recorded Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards segment. However, the lady well ‘shouldered’ on, taking the moment of slight exposure in stride, in the end remarking how she has enjoyed that the slip had earned a million-plus views on TikTok and more than 547,000 likes on Instagram.

Zendaya stunned a crowd in Paris this week when walking the red carpet into the Ballon d’Or sports ceremony. The Spider-Man: No Way Home actress wore a skeleton-inspired vintage gown from a 2000 fall/winter Roberto Cavalli collection. Designer Fausto Puglisi reimaged her new version of the dress by fixing a gold replica spine with ribs fanning to the sides down Zendaya’s bareback.

No stranger to latex, especially not lately, Christina Aguilera returned to the Latin Grammy’s after two decades. She wore a curve-capturing black gown, accessorizing with puffy latex glove-sleeves. Just the night before this appearance, Xtina was on stage at The Latin Recording Academy’s 2021 “Person of the Year Gala,” wearing a black latex catsuit with a super sexy plunging neckline.

A mere week past one big American holiday and coming into all the ones we get this time of year, alternative fashion and haute couture splendor show no signs of stopping.
