The 2016 VMA’s Will Tickle And Tease (And Maybe Even Surprise) Your Fashion Sensibilities

beyonce 2014 VMA's DawnamatrixHaving outfitted Beyoncé’s backing dancers with some latex clothing at the diva’s show-stopping performance at the 2014 VMA’s, Dawnamatrix has always had an affection for the Video Music Awards event. This year Rihanna will be wearing our sexy accessory of latex opera gloves to the VMA’s, (she is set to pick up her “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award”) so once again we are proud to be ‘on hand,’ (so to speak) no matter when RiRi wears us.

Rihanna actually sports quite the alternative haute couture across the September issue of W Magazine. If you haven’t yet seen these sexy pictures, you damn well should, as the pop diva sports masks, boots, hoods, all manner of post-apocalyptic-like threads (though, one man’s post-apocalyptic is another man’s…). Rihanna, like her contemporaries at the VMA’s this year, keep their appearances, whether in print or in what we see come August 28th at the Video Music Awards, celebrity chic provocative as they ever have.

The VMA’s are that rare case where what you catch a celebrity wearing on the red carpet coming into the event is sometimes wilder then what they wear on stage. The 2016 VMA’s promises a return of Britney Spears, an old darling (with or without her snake) of this award show’s stage, performing her new single “Make Me…” with G-Eazy. If you have seen any pictures from what Britney wears on stage in her Vegas residency of shows (or Instagram pics of how slamming her body still is as she cavorts on vacations in her bikini) this more ‘mature’ pop diva’s wardrobe choices, for on and off stage, could prove brilliantly naughty and gorgeous.opera gloves

Whoever performers or just announces the winners, no matter how much latex is on hand, through all the surprises that are bound to occur (the VMA’s are really one of the best shows for surprising audiences) next week at Madison Square Garden in New York City, we are sure to all see some unforgettable sights and hear some inspiring sounds.
