As it has with almost every business on the planet, COVID-19 certainly cut into fetish events, latex fashion shows, and pretty much the see-and-be-seen scene. But one of the biggest producers of those kinds of events in London, the well-known house of alternative wardrobes and naughty fun, Torture Garden, returns with their “Pearl Necklace Supper Club Night.”
Take that for beating back the shutdown blues!
Transforming its Electrowerkz party location into a supper club, T.G. presents a most unusual restaurant experience across three rooms. Tickets will entitle attendees to a meal (served by “fabulously eccentric characters,” as T.G.’s press promises) that includes a bread platter for the table, three dishes per person and a drink of each guest’s choice.
Besides the food, there will be plenty of the usual Torture Garden ‘adornments’ set up for guests to safely partake of in the three rooms. Equipment can only be used within designated spaces and with fully executed social distancing.
In addition to the distractions that attendees can provide for themselves, a round of specific performers have been announced for the Pearl Necklace nights, which have been scheduled for multiple dates now stretching into the next few months (see here). The performers listed so far include Cynth Icorn, Anselme Lenga, and Andromeda Circus.
There are two different types of ‘nights’ one can enjoy at Pearl Necklace. Thursday is a cabaret, where both an Avante Garde and fetish dress code are allowed. On Fridays, a strictly full fetish dress code is only allowed, promising guests a more extreme evening at the start of their weekend.
Bookings are for tables of two, four, or six seats, with arrival times staggered for the very best enacting of social distancing protocols.
For all of us who have been missing our alternative dress-up nights, looking to connect with friends or just get out and about, Torture Garden seems to know what ails us
