The White Lotus Ups Their Couture Game

Oh, if there was only one latex swimsuit in the bunch! This is surely a cry latex fashionista could have over the popular HBO series The White Lotus. Premiering in 2021, we are now into the third season of the popular anthology series, and so far, there’s not been any latex couture to be seen.

But there are stunning fashions galore, and seemingly, the wardrobe is better than ever this year.

Considering the warm locales each season has been set in—the first in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and this new season in Thailand—it’s not exactly surprising to see the range of characters of this Sunday night must-see HBO show in lightweight wear, wraps, swimsuits, and bright colors. And seeing as these are mostly rich folks populating this series, descending on a high-end resort each season as they do, we’re treated to more designer duds than not.

From Valentino mini-dresses, needlepoint accessories, vintage bamboo bags, and caftans, and yes, those swimsuits, costume designer Alex Bovaird told Vogue, “We don’t do quiet luxury.” But he gets his characters in designer couture from the likes of Jacquemus (Charlotte Le Bon’s “Chloe” wore a bespoke suit from the designer that sported a sexy see-thru sarong), Rachel Comey, Ciao Lucia, A.P.C. and Gucci to name but a few. And even resort staff members, like “Mook,” played by Lisa of BLACKPINK was seen in her uniform of smashingly stylish short sleeve shirt matched with cargo shorts from Tombolo.

And we can’t forget the accessories. From sunglasses to necklaces and rings to even Hublot watches, these guests do dress well even when they are dressed casually.

Bovaird also mentioned how this season he paid particular attention to his character’s shoes and didn’t just opt for putting them into flip flips as he had in previous seasons.
