It’s not all latex, but there is some (and awards at that!) this week in a quick roundup of interesting recent stories from across the fashion spectrum.
Sydney Sweeney Controversial Again
Her American Eagle jeans campaign and trespassing at the Hollywood sign may have long passed. But now Sydney Sweeney stars in a new Christmas campaign (see here) for her SYRN lingerie brand, where she plays several iconic Christmas movie characters.
And again, courts controversy.
In one scene, S.S. plays Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, wearing her lingerie couture and Who’s signature hairstyle. As the campaign progresses in an even more risqué bent (this is lingerie after all), the inclusion of a beloved children’s literature character in all the action has had a goodly amount of social media critics calling out Sweeney… once again.
The 2026 LatexVideo Awards
From granting a “Best Celebrity Appearance” to Addison Rae when she was interviewed at the Grammy Museum, to Japanese model Tsunko winning for cosplaying Yuki Mori from the anime Space Battleship Yamato in bright yellow latex couture to awards for best vloggers, if you saw any latex across video, from anywhere this past year, these awards are celebrating it.
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders take legal action against My Chemical Romance over onstage costumes.
On-stage dancers at the My Chemical Romance show at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl last week wore couture that seemed to be identical to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ well-known (and copyrighted) white and blue uniforms.
Pro Silver Star, which owns the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand, has filed an injunction in court.
Christie Brinkley reimagines Black Velvet Canadian Whisky

Christie Brinkley stars in a new campaign for Black Velvet Canadian Whisky. This marks the iconic supermodel coming back to the brand nearly five decades after she first appeared in their ads in 1978.
While the photos do not precisely remake Brinkley’s famous ad, they are a “reimagination,” with the 72-year-old wearing her hair in cascading loose curls and an updo, and, like in the original, a black dress.
