Madonna To Coachella…Give Me My Clothes Back!

Be it latex, lace, PVC, denim or satin, we’ve known for years that Madonna is a true ‘material girl.’ The wide variety of styles and textiles she has worn over her career, how she influenced 80s fashion, her video costuming, as well as on stage couture has become iconic. But after appearing with Sabrina Carpenter in a surprise performance at Coachella this year, some of the clothes she was wearing went missing.

Vintage pieces Miss Madge wore on stage, plus other garments and jewelry, were stuffed into two bags last Saturday night, sitting on a golf cart. “These aren’t just clothes, they are part of my history,” Madonna said on her Instagram post, specially referencing the outfit she wore onstage with Carpenter, the same outfit she wore at Coachella 20 years ago…bright-pink-and-red lingerie with matching stockings. Offstage, she was wearing a lilac dress and blue jacket.

Although the disappearance of Madonna’s clothes is not being called a ‘theft’ (there is some supposition that the bags simply fell off the golf cart) what happened to her over the past weekend has now made the list of the most famous personal fashion & jewelry thefts in history. She earns her place alongside Kim Kardashian having armed men steal approximately $10 million in jewelry, from her in 2016 in Paris (the men brought to trial in 2025). In 2007 actor Kirsten Dunst suffered the theft of over $15,000 in property, including a $13,000 handbag, stolen from a hotel room in NYC. And in what might be the most famous celebrity theft, Winona Ryder makes the list, by being the perpetrator, stealing over $5K of designer clothes and accessories from Saks Fifth Avenue in 2001.

Madonna has offered a reward for the return of the clothes. Her fans can reach out to her team at infomaverick2026@gmail.com with any information they might uncover…or know themselves.
