With a blue ‘red carpet’ celebrating host network NBC’s 100th anniversary, the 2026 Emmys landed upon us Monday of this past week, with nary a latex outfit seen. Even host Mariska Hargitay’s many changes during the night didn’t hint at our favorite textile.
But we are humble enough to highlight some of the fashions seen at the show anyway…while we dream our latex dreams.
“Euphoria” star Zendaya wore a bespoke Prada, sporting a plunging neckline with silver embellishments, crystals, and a sheer train. Selena Gomez also went bespoke in a bustier gown covered in gold embroidery. Chase Infiniti, who we saw in a stunning black latex peplum when she appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” at the beginning of the year, was in a strapless mermaid gown covered in copper-colored beads. And Colman Domingo, who made the ‘best dressed’ on many a list for the evening, wore a Mandarin-collar jacket, sporting frog fastenings, cream pants, and a fuchsia sash. He also wore a sash, as did Kingston Rumi Southwick, at the Creative Arts Emmys event, called the ‘Emmys before the Emmys’ that happened across two nights, September 5th and 6th.
Shailene Woodley earned the most controversy with what she wore (as much as there can be controversy for such a calm haute couture evening as the Emmys). Although she was dressed in a simple, stunning white Brandon Maxwell Resort 2027 mini when winning her first “Guest Actress in a Drama” Emmy at the The Creative Arts show, Woodley pulled her hair back in a center-parted tight ponytail, sported a cornflower blue tank with a deep V neckline, and oversized trousers covered in gold crystals and sequins, for the Emmy Award show broadcast Monday night. Her most stunning part of the outfit, though, had to be her accessory; opera-length maroon colored leather gloves.
So, the big TV broadcast/streaming service event passed without any latex couture being worn by the Hollywood elite. Still, they did outfit themselves fashionably and even made some bloggers comment.
