“The Mane Event,” or Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir’s wedding may not have featured latex clothing, but it surely was an haute couture affair of the highest order. BET’s TV special, airing this week, was a $1.7 million dollar event, happening in Miami, filmed as part of the couple’s 10-part reality series, Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir: The Mane Event. With a ten-foot tall wedding cake (with frosting made of 2,500 Swarovski crystals) to the groom and bride in their sparkling sartorial choices before, during and after their nuptials, this was a celebrity-filled event that just needed to be filmed, streamed and Instagram-ed.
Keyshia wore a custom-made Charbel Zeo Couture gown. It featured long beaded sleeves attached to a sparkly bodice, with a feathery skirt train. Accessorizing the all-white dress with a crystal headpiece, drop earrings and her diamond-and-crystal bouquet, the bride was a stunning sparkling vision. Gucci was also all in all-white, wearing a finely fitted tux, sparkly loafers and sporting a diamond bowtie.
At the rehearsal dinner the pair showed off matching wardrobes again, in brick-red suit and gown respectively. And after they cut the cake Keyshia changed into another all-white sparkly ensemble, a Yousef Aljasmi gown.
Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir are a couple who take their fashion choices quite seriously. Much was made of their outfits when Gucci proposed to Keyshia at a basketball game. And Keyshia’s sexy clothing choices have been blogged over constantly, from her Vegas bachelorette weekend where she wore a tiered skirt, garter belt and stockings, and feathered gold mask, to stepping out just before her wedding in a silver mesh see-through body suit at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Surely, a wedding brings out the bride’s gown choices as much as her style for the special day, but Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir made sure the day was stylish for them both.
