Dawnamatrix Makes the ‘Top List’ of Latex Clothing Makers

Ok, not to brag, but we don’t exactly know how we missed this article about top latex designers… where we are honored with a first mention on the list.

Wow!

As Mara Collins, Style Editor of MJ Trends, begins her piece, “Latex clothing sits at a fascinating intersection of subculture, couture, and material innovation. Once confined to fetish communities and underground fashion scenes, it has steadily moved into the mainstream—appearing on runways, red carpets, and in celebrity wardrobes. What distinguishes latex from other materials is not just its high-gloss, second-skin aesthetic, but the craftsmanship required to work with it.”

Yes, yes, and yes, we say!

Then Mara went on to name us first in her list under Leading Latex Clothing Companies, under the title Dawnamatrix — Latex as Fine Art.

Again, we say…wow!

She highlights what she calls my “hybrid approach,” being part fashion designer and part artist (and yes that’s how we have always viewed what we do: fashion and art), where our outfits have appeared (and on whom) and how she feels we “emphasizes clean lines, dramatic draping, and theatrical silhouettes,” presenting our latex as “a fluid, almost sculptural material.”

What wonderful compliments!

She then goes on to showcase a great many pictures of our clothing, as she pretty much does for all the designers she names. Those other designers are brilliant, one and all, and we are humbled to be named with them. They all bring something unique to creating garments from the textile we love best, and I am a fan of all of their work.

I suggest reading the whole piece (again, see here) to see and read about all of our fellow latex artisans.

Concluding her piece, Mara says, “Latex’s trajectory suggests continued growth. What was once niche is increasingly visible in mainstream fashion, aided by celebrity endorsements and runway experimentation.”

And she promises, “Designers are also exploring new directions.”

And I’d have to declare, all of the designers here, as well as so many I know, are indeed working hard to take latex couture in ever new directions.

Thank you so much, Mara!
