Sukeban, Molly Santana And Dawnamatrix Rock New York City

We surely have told you about our latex couture connection with the Sukeban Japanese pro wrestling. The all-women team, co-founded by Olympia Le-Tan and her brother-in-law Alex Detrick (professional wrestlers Orion Dove and Bull Nakano, respectively), just took NYC by storm with an event at the city’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

And once again, some of our designs were featured on these amazingly athletic ladies. In collaboration with Sukeban’s Cofounder and Creative Director, Olympia Le-Tan, we created the sailor suits for the Harajuku Girls, something we’ve done before for the group.

Pics here are of that outfit and much more. This Harpers Bazaar article, written prior to the performance, provides a good long history of the group and what they are all about. It also includes Le-Tan’s “one unyielding requirement” for the wrestler’s outfits, “they needed to stretch. Testing out different materials, she gravitated to latex,” the HP piece informs readers.

This Interview Magazine piece (with lots of great pics beyond what we show here) surely shows off our contribution as does this Dazed Digital report on the show.

In addition to the wrestlers, rapper Molly Santana also performed at the event. The Sukeban events are filled with confectionery colors, swag, and the matches…plus music performances like Molly’s. You can see a clip of her performance here: https://youtube.com/shorts/bcSwoGFe6xc?si=nnfbzhbT8Rgb0ndY. The latex costume you see Molly wearing is one of our black latex sailor uniforms. You can get a up close look at her outfit in the embedded video link in Molly’s Complex magazine backstage interview from the H. B. show, go here: https://www.complex.com/music/a/treyalston/molly-santana-drake-ran-atlanta-what-to-know.

21-year-old rapper Molly Santana hails from Fontana CA. Five years ago she released her debut EP, Molly’s World. She received her biggest career boost, earning a near whopping 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify overnight, when she appeared on fellow rapper/superstar Drake’s track “Ran To Atlanta,” from Drake’s latest Iceman album.

Covering rappers and wrestling, it doesn’t get much better for us! Thank you all.
