As we have said plenty of times, accessorizing smartly with your latex couture can make or break a look. Gloves, shoes, various forms of jewelry is so important to pick correctly when dressing up a fetish outfit or even a mainstream style. In a recent collaboration we managed with local Seattle-based designer, Shady Bitch Eyewear, we were flattered to see our wardrobe matched with such stunning sunglasses to create a singular style.
As Shady Bitch Eyewear owner and designer Shawntil Howard writes: “Shady Bitch Eyewear is so much more than shades. Here, the future is female, we push the power of women, and owning your inner (mainly outer) bad bitch. With our recent shoot, we wanted to create a wardrobe that was slick, fierce, and strong…and in devising those wardrobe options latex immediately came to mind. The latex pieces created by Dawnamatrix has this innate ability to transform the everyday woman into a warrior. And all Shady Bitches are just warriors behind a pair of shades. She is on the train, sipping wine on a patio, traveling the world, or taking a moment for herself.”
Forever championing the empowerment of women (and men too) Dawnmatrix has always been about expressing one’s self through our textile art. Be it transforming, costume play or imbuing the wearer with the confidence to step out feeling as sexy as they ever can, we agree with Shawntil’s’ take on wearer (women with sunglasses in her case) as warrior. On Shady Bitch’s website, Shawntil uses words like “loud,” fashionable” “inappropriate,” all those very same feelings we hope to give our customers when they come to us to create a new bespoke piece or watching our models strut down a runway with the latest Dawnamatrix collection.
In fact, at the 2017 Cars and Couture show, all our models wore Shady Bitch Eyewear on the runway.
