Way back when (here actually) we told you how we had created some latex outfits for London Fashion Week’s celebration of conservation and pachyderms with their Elephantasia show. We even blogged about Vogue’s coverage (see here) of the event created by Fashion for Conservation. Yes, we were thrilled to have been part of the cause of “funding conservation with the voice of fashion”; we had never actually designed anything for a cause like that before.
Now Fashion for Conservation will be bringing designs from the show (including some of our pieces) to Seattle’s Axis Pioneer Square (located at 308 1st Ave S., Seattle, WA 98104) for a cocktail fashion event, once again, fighting for conservation.
The gathering, happening on November 28th, will feature specialty-themed cocktails, and a unique fashion exhibition inspired by the majestic grace of the elephant as well as those inspired by the lush beauty of rain forests around the world. This cocktail gathering will specifically benefit the Seattle and Amazonian rain forest charity Hoja Nueva and the organization’s president, Samantha Zwicker, will give the keynote address. Zwicker is also a co-founder of Fashion for Conservation.
Her 2nd co-founder at Fashion for Conservation, Nazanine Afshar, tells what attendees will see at Cocktails for Conservation: The runway pieces express the cause through their colors, shapes and textures. Designs range from oversized shoulders of an elephant gray pleated jumpsuit by Shriti to a colorful cacao-embroidered dress by Jose Zafra.
Fashion for Conservation was founded by Nazanine Afshar, Dr. Samantha Zwicker and 3rd co-counder Ava Holmes.

Surely it will prove to be an amazing evening, featuring clothes from a wide range of global designers (and one certainly from right close to Seattle!) and yummy libations, all for a great cause.
