Yes, There Was Latex At The Grammy’s This Year

Latex, lace, leather, and copious amounts of skin, along with protest buttons; attendees did not disappoint in what they wore to the 68th Grammy Awards. Celebrities attending this latest version of the granddaddy music celebration gave us a whole lot to look at and post about…and we got to enjoy a grand latex couture moment from a celebrity icon.

Leather couture was on display two nights ago. We saw Yungblud in an open leather vest paired with leather pants, and Cher, who presented at the tail end of the show, wore a leather bandage gown paired with a lace catsuit under her jacket.

We also saw lace on Amy Taylor, who wore a daring skin-tone catsuit with a pink lace cut-out. Joy Villa’s blue catsuit sported the slogan “Scientology kills.”

Leaning into politics, more than one person attended sporting a badge making a statement about ICE.

Guys like Teddy Swims, Jon Batiste, Bad Bunny, and Gesaffelstein came wore various duds. Swims came in a baggy dark grey suit with purple stitching and silver studs. Batiste wore a rhinestone military jacket, and Bad Bunny was in Schiaparelli’s first-ever bespoke menswear, sporting corset detailing on the back of the jacket. And Gesaffelstein, seemingly hiding in plain sight, per usual, wore a black double-breasted tuxedo that he complemented with his signature, bespoke high-gloss black mask and shiny black gloves.

Chappell Roan, in her bespoke Mugler nipple-clasp dress, surely garnered lots of blogging. In her reissue of this infamous open-fronted dress, which premiered back in 1988, Roan sported prosthetic nipples, a see-through bottom half, and an open back, all of which she revealed when removing her cape.

Last but not least, there was Heidi Klum in a full latex skin-tone mold replica of her body. Sporting a jagged neckline and hem, a small indent at her belly button, markings at her nipples and rear, Klum was defining the naked dress trend in her own unique way. The dress, featuring snaps down the side, earned the super model as much attention for its look as the many video clips prompting quips about how difficult it was for Klum to take a step in this unique latex wardrobe.

She did make the night for us, though.
