As you can see from this post (which includes a picture of our latex couture creation ‘Tsukomogami’, the 2025 Supreme WOW Supreme Award winner at the top of the article) tickets are now on sale for the WOW (World of WearableArt show) returning to Wellington this year, 9/17 to 10/4.
This year’s show, 2026 WOW Show: GLO! GLO! will transform the arena into six distinctive worlds, each with its own unique ‘energy:” Metallic, forged in heat, light and transformation; Open, where pop art bursts from the walls; Aotearoa, where nature is digitally refracted; Avant-garde, shaping the future; Kinetic, where motion becomes visible; and Bizarre Bra.
World of WearableArt Chief Executive Meg Williams, WOW’s Chief Executive says about GLO!:
“Each piece of wearable art holds its own energy, brought to life through the alchemy of live performance. When a designer’s vision and performer meet, something electric happens. We want the show to charge the audience with a surge of creativity and celebrate what makes them GLO!.”
The Bizarre Bra, is an iconic section from the show, that began in 1995, and returns to the WOW stage for the first time in three years. Made from everything from teapots to telephones Williams adds about this particular category:
“To say Bizarre Bra is back by popular demand doesn’t quite cover it.”
Brian Burke, producer/director of the opening and closing ceremonies for F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, among other events, returns for his fifth year as Executive Creative Director of the WOW stage. He claims “The message of this show is simple: Go with your GLO! Live your day with what inspires you, what lights you up.”
We know from experience, that the WOW show is unlike anything seen anywhere in the world. Proud to have been part of WOW these past few years, and looking forward to competing in GLO!, the news of another WOW show coming is so thrilling for us all.
