Back in this blog we posted last week, we were wondering (pardon the pun), along with lots of fans, about the state of Wonder Woman’s new costume changes-a latex costume or not-as seen in issue Wonder Woman #15. Yes, we pretty much ‘geek out’ like the rest of you over these changes, be they big or small, to costumes or some other aspect of the superheroes and villains we so love…and take to as the center of our cosplay. And now we just saw some changes or at least some speculations over what might be coming to Diana Prince, this time, from an animated source.
First and foremost, we all know that Gal Gadot will not be coming back to portray Wonder Woman…if indeed there is a live action Wonder Woman in our future (which seems likely). The fans seemed to take to Gadot though and she was certainly a lady who could not only wear the Wonder Woman costume perfectly but looked especially stunning in the period clothes we saw her slip into in the first stand-alone Wonder Woman movie. Her early 20th-century London attire alone set all of us fashionistas drooling.
But it seems we got a peek at some more Wonder Woman possibilities in a ‘teaser’ from the next Creature Commandos MAX animated series episode. In the ‘end game’ moment (sorry for the pun), a whole bunch of superheroes, among them Wonder Woman, are impaled on spikes.
Not a happy, super ending for our heroes at all!
What we see in the apocalyptic snippet is as much Wonder Woman’s iconic tiara bloodied in the foreground as well as the woman wearing her classic star-spangled briefs.
Will what we see, either in comics or animated series translate to big costume changes for Wonder Woman on the big screen, if indeed we do see her on the big screen again? All we can do is wait…and wonder.
