As we have always said, there are so many wonderful latex designers out there creating bespoke items, as well as selling catalog latex wardrobe pieces. We surely feel a sense of healthy competition with them all, but part of the Dawnamatrix ethos has always been that there is enough room (and alternative wardrobe wearers) to go around. As we all make our way in the world of fun and sexy fashions, the more the merrier.
So, it was thrilling to read our inclusion amongst so many other latex makers and sellers on the A-Z Latex Vendor listing just posted on the Wear Latex website (see the link here). Running down the list we are reminded of old friends and spy some newer labels we didn’t know about, but are mostly bolstered by how many artisans are putting their talents into creating latex styles well into this second decade of this new century.
Surely, things were dicey there for a few years with COVID all but killing fashion shows, fetish fun get-togethers, runway reveals at alternative art and museum events, and the shutdown of global supply chains. As with most businesses, we wondered, right along with our brothers and sisters making latex, just what might become of our businesses.
But luckily latex designing, modeling, and most of all, wearing latex persevered. One might even say that latex couture enjoys more popularity presently than it ever has. From superhero costuming (and the cosplay that comes from it) to celebrity red-carpet styles to music videos and live music artists’ performances, and just anybody slipping into a latex corset or donning a pair of latex gloves, latex clothing is everywhere.
So, we thank WearLatex.com for including us. We say a hearty hello to our fellow latex designers. And we wish everyone continued success, be you a maker or seller (or both) of our favorite textile, or somebody who loves to wear it.
