If we were in a self-serving mood, we could expound on another year of us contributing a latex outfit to the World of Wearable Art competition and what happened there (which you can read here). And there were surely other things we wrestled our couture into (see that story here). But as with part 1 of this end-of-the-year screed (which appeared here the second day into the New Year), we wanted to continue with where we all saw latex this year.
Let’s first explore the music-making moments where we saw artists strutting in our favorite textiles.
Paris Hilton returned to music-making with her “Bad Bitch Academy” video. The clip featured scrumptious latex couture, pink pretty much the color of the day as Paris showcased her lithe form in body-hugging latex couture as a sexy teacher. We also saw Heidi Klum and Lace Bass, in the video sporting latex.
There was also Kylie Minogue, performing at BST Hyde Park over the summer, showing her 56-year-old self in a latex costume on stage. Dojo Cat stepped on stage in London around the same time in a skin-color/skintight latex bodysuit, with a translucent latex trench over it. In Fight Club’s video for their song “Barbwire Kiss,” lead singer Emily Kavanaugh makes quite the erotic show singing and dancing in full black latex.
And we all know how much Christina Aquilera has been making latex almost her almost-always go-to, either on stage at her Vegas Residency, performing on stage around the world, or just in Instagram posts.
One can always count on Xtina to be wearing it late…and wearing it well.
In addition to music-making, we caught highly-publicized latex moments from what the Kardashian/Jenner clan got into. While they weren’t pushing latex couture of any kind, they were indeed selling. Kourtney Kardashian wore a two latex pieces for her new Lemme Glow lollipops. She wore yellow latex pants in one post, and a plum-colored latex gown, with a high slit and built-in cups in another. In another product launch post, Kylie Jenner, wore nude latex heels with a skintight, shiny black latex mini, for her new vodka soda line, Sprinter.
Surely these end-of-the-yar round-up blogs in no way cover all that happened with latex wardrobes and our culture. But enjoy these two ‘tickles’ and surely, once again, we wish you the happiest and healthiest 2025.
