The Year in Latex, 2024-Part 1

As we usually do at the end of each year, it’s time to take a look back at what we saw in latex couture, be it on a red carpet, some new superhero movie cosplayers will be suited up soon to emulate, a music video, across a fashion show runway or for just the everyday selling of celebrity-endorsed/owned products. Our favorite textile was again in the mainstream across Instagram posts, tweeted over, and talked about as much on alternative fashion sites as nightly broadcast news reports. So, without further ado, here is part one of our brief rundown of The Year in Latex, 2024, starting with the most recent…
Singer Paloma Faith performed at the annual UK ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service, supported by The Royal Foundation. Hosted by the country’s Prince of Wales, Faith sang “This Christmas,” wearing a red latex bodysuit under her dress for over 1600 attendees, including many of the British Royal Family at Westminster Abbey.
Another recently reported British event latex reveal was Chloe Bailey accompanying her sister Halle to the UK Fashion Awards. Chole wore an off-the-shoulder latex gown with a plunging neckline edged in red-lined bust cutout. The outfit’s long train fishtail skirt completed the stunning look.
More stepping out at big events (though in the US this time) Chrissy Teigen wore a curve-hugging low-cut black latex bodysuit when she attended this year’s ChainFEST Los Angeles’ VIP Night, celebrating “The World’s First Gourmet Chain Food Festival” return. Round Paris way, Heidi Klum made quite the showing walking the runway at the “Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris – Walk Your Worth” Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 show. The supermodel strutted down the runway in a floor-length black latex gown.
In part 2 of this reporting, we will discuss some of the music stars who made latex fashion news this year and who dressed in latex to promote their wares. But before that second blog appears, we must say a Happy New Year to you all.
See you in 2025.
