Teyana Taylor, Jenna Ortega, Portugal Eurovision Latex, And A Jim Carrey Mask?

Fashion bits and pieces, as much about latex as about alternative looks and even a possible celebrity impersonation, make this fashion blog round-up.

Teyana Taylor and Jenna Ortega at the 32nd Actor Awards

One can become all too exhausted from the numerous award shows held this time of year, even with the possibility of celebrities wearing latex outfits. Looking back over the last few weeks of this blog, we have certainly been caught in the web of these shows. But one last mention needs go to both Teyana Taylor and Jenna Ortega for what they wore at the 32nd Actor Awards, just passed.

No latex here, but…there was Taylor, riding a wave of popularity and fashion reveals not seen in a long time. The actress, dancer, singer arrived at the ceremony in a bespoke Thom Browne featuring intricate, swirling appliques set across a curve-hugging, tight bodice that fell to a shimmering skirt of silver sequins. It was very reminsicent of the Thom Brown trompe-l’oeil rendering front piece that Rebecca Hall wore at The 2025 Academy Museum Gala (see picture at the top of this blog).

Jenna Ortega was also at the LA event, wearing a champagne-blushed dress that could have doubled as a lingerie slip. Featuring a high slit with seemingly ripped edges, quite a few holes, and a plunging neckline, surely one could have said that last Sunday was Wednesday’s day.

Eurovision Latex

Granted, you are likely to hear a wide variety of music, as well as see a whole bunch of different stage costumes at any Eurovision Song Contest. But the yearly global song competition saw two of its Portuguese submitters in full latex. The Festival da Canção happens each year to select the Portuguese entry into Eurovision. At this show last week, lead singers Jacaréu and Ana Margarid outfitted themselves in striking latex couture; Jacaréu in green latex jacket and pants, singer-songwriter Ana Margarida in a red latex catsuit, and long, dramatically cut skirt.

Their backing singers also wore latex. See their performance here.

Masking A Jim Carrey Controversy?

Yes, those of us interested in latex couture sometimes do indeed accessorize by wearing a latex mask. This week, drag artist Alexis Stone fueled a seeming net-born conspiracy (that seems to have no veracity, like many a net conspiracy) that he impersonated actor Jim Carrey at the 2026 César Awards, held in Paris, last week…wearing a mask! As you can see from this Instagram post, Stone showed Getty Image photos of Carrey, then unverified photos of a prosthetic face, fake teeth, wig, and make up on a desk. One can clearly see the Eiffel Tower in the background.

The real Jim Carrey’s people have denied this claim.
