Sweeney’s BRas Take Hollywood

And here we thought celebrities wearing sexy latex outfits might sometimes garner controversy. It seems Sydney Sweeney did so (again) just a few days ago, hanging some bras on the iconic Hollywood sign.

To be specific, dressed in a black baseball cap, Sweeney placed a handful of bras on the ‘H’ of the 103-year-old landmark while she was being filmed. Although the 28-year-old Euphoria actress acquired a permit from FilmLA to shoot the sign, she did not receive permission to touch or climb it. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which owns the famous sign, said: “There was no permission granted to do this as is required.”

Not having a permit could put Sweeney at risk of being charged with criminal trespassing and/or vandalism.

Supported by Coatue Management and investments by Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez, and Michael Dell (it’s no surprise then that Sweeney was at the couple’s recent lavish wedding) Sweeney’s new company, SYRN (although the name has not been confirmed) is said to have been in production for quite some time. We might recall Sweeney teaming up with Frankie’s Bikinis to help create a swimwear collection three years ago.

Built as a real estate ad in 1923, as far as what has happened in and around the famous Hollywood sign years ago:

Actress Peg Entwistle committed suicide in 1932 by jumping off the H. George Alexander Aberle, eden ahbez (ahbe to his friends) is said to have lived and slept under the sign’s first ‘L’ for a time. ahbez is arguably best remembered for composing Nat King Cole’s 1948 hit, “Nature Boy.” In 1976, Danny Finegood, altered the sign to read “Hollyweed,” a stunt he repeated often. Danny was celebrating relaxed marijuana laws. And no other than Hugh Hefner funded a 1978 restoration of the letters, well in disrepair at that time.

When SYRN (if that’s the name) will launch has not yet been determined. But S.S.’s latest bra stunt might be an indication we all might see Sweeney’s lingerie very soon.
