Sukeban Returns To Miami

When it comes to our more fanciful latex fashions, it seems the Japan’s All-Female Wrestling League, Sukeban, keeps paying us dividends.

As we first reported here https://dawnamatrix.com/news/sukeban/ I collaborated with fashion designer Olympia Le-Tan to help her create her designs in latex for the Harajuku Stars wrestlers. The all-Japanese, all-female wrestling league, named Sukeban, is attired in wildly colorful costumes, blending fashion, anime, and trad. Japanese women’s wrestling in their oh-so-unique sartorial style.

Sukeban as much plays to a one-of-a-kind sport/culture as their matches are wildly exciting, theatrical and athletic. Tomorrow, Dec. 3rd, 8pm the troupe returns with Art Basel to appear at the Miami Beach Bandshell, Collins Avenue, Miami Beach FL. 33141

The main event will feature the newly crowned champion Atomic Banshee, representing the “Vandals”. Hoping to keep her title, Atomic Banshee will be matched against the frontwoman of the Harajuku Stars, Ichigo Sayaka. The five-match card will also feature top wrestlers like Maya Mamushi, Crush Yuu, Midnight Player and Commander Nakajima.

The other names associated with Sukeban, all artists in their own right, include, the aforementioned co-founder/designer of the group Olympia Le-Tan. Championship Belt designer Marc Newson. Nail artist Mei Kawajiri (yes nails truly matter to the women of Sukeban) lends her talents, accessories for costumes were designer Katie Hillier and the music will be spun by by DJ ecec, another essential element to these matches

As with any Sukeban match, the Miami venue they perform in tomorrow will be transformed into a vibrant Japanese street fair, filled with local North Beach vendors.

Be sure to enjoy all the high flying crazy wrestling moves as well as check out how well the latex fits the participants.
