Prada Accessorizes

We have often mentioned how latex accessories can bring quite the fashionable ‘uptick’ to a wardrobe. Even a wardrobe that doesn’t include any other latex. Gloves, shoes, and even jewelry can add to one’s overall alt. fashion attempt, as well as what we will be on about in what follows.

So much can make or break a fashion moment.

Prada seems to be after making them with their just revealed spring/summer 2025 womenswear collection and making them as much with the usual round of their spectacular clothes as with what some of their runway models wore as accessories. Or if one wants to specifically define what their models were accessorizing with…face coverings of various designs.

Miuccia Prada, the creative director of an Italian clothing design house, has been out front of the brand for nearly half a century, predicting future styles as much as influencing them. Working with Prada’s co-creative director Raf Simons, this time out the duo accessorized their A-line coats and 80s style blouses, tops made from metal spoons, and skirts with what could best be described as wildly imaginative, maybe even ‘alien’ if one wanted to be so bold in one’s description, headwear.

In some cases, their models wore inverted hats down over their faces, huge sunglasses, or full see-thru face masks. All of it, surely set’s Prada aside once again.

As the label itself says of the new collection on their website:

A sequence of concurrent realities are here dedications to the individual, every look a unique reflection of their present. There is a plurality of Prada, elements from different eras coexisting simultaneously to challenge any theory of chronology, creating impossible contradictions, points of difference. The notion of the superhero becomes a representation of the centrality of the individual, their agency, and of the power of creativity as a means to transform. Everything changes.

And surely everything does change, as we have always said and Prada’s specific accessorizing this time informs us.
